Nearly half of the more than 85,000 private foundations in the United States have come into being since the year 2000. Just under 5,000 more were established in 2011 alone. This deluge of philanthropy has helped create a world where billionaires wield more power over education policy, global agriculture, and global health than ever before.

Charities link the farmers in Africa to the boardrooms of corporate foundations and the corridors of the World Economic Forum at Davos. Far from being selfless, plutocratic philanthropy may be the ultimate profit-making tool.

In No Such Thing as a Free Gift, author and academic Linsey McGoey puts this new golden age of philanthropy under the microscope—paying particular attention to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. As large charitable organizations replace governments as the providers of social welfare, their largesse becomes suspect. The businesses fronting the money often create the very economic instability and inequality the foundations are purported to solve. We are entering an age when the ideals of social justice are dependent on the strained rectitude and questionable generosity of the mega-rich.

Self plug there! But I do think it's an important book to read at present given the likelihood of mandatory or at least heavily recommended Corona vaccines to come. And FYI, the goal of the book was not to make anyone anti or pro vaccines, but just to present all the research and summaries of approx. 1000 of the latest studies in a 100% unbiased fashion (which I believe it succeeds at doing), and allow readers to make up their own minds.

Yes, having read all the evidence I can find, and especially after listening to Robert F.Kennedy Jnr’s testimony along with many highly qualified doctors, I am convinced that vaccination is harmful and entirely unnecessary for the body’s own immune system.

To be perfectly honest, I don't try to overthink covid. Whether Gates is trustworthy or not is irrelevant to me. As long as he puts his money where he says it's going is what's important. If he chooses to educated himself on the minutiae of the Novel Covid-19 virus thats fine with me. I don't think Fauci's corrupt. In fact quite the opposite. He had a really difficult time dealing with the Trump machine and he knew they were using him. But he also knew the dangers of a novel bug. He shared as much as everyone else kbew in a timely manner. But there eere idiots out there who demanded he have or know the correct answers the minute this novel vurus showed up. It's the culture we live in and science can't stand up to that kind of "everything now" mindset. And Trump threw this amazing man under the Trump short bus.

It's too bad that it worked out this way. If more people listened to him, without the Trump filter, North America would be more ok, and less people would have died.

Do I blame Trump and his monkeys? Not overall. I blame the behaviour of people. A lot of people. The anti- vaxers, maskers and freedumb folks did more harm to the success of fighting the virus than all of the other factors combined.
