Katia just saw the last person she’d ever expect.

Brian, who she hasn’t seen since they were nine years old. Because he moved away without saying goodbye.

Brian, who was her best friend in fourth grade and made her laugh and made forts with her in the woods.

Who left her alone when she needed him most.

Now he’s back. Her best friend, Adam, isn’t thrilled.

Except Brian’s completely different than she remembers.

He’s not the boy next door anymore. There’s a darkness inside him, and he won’t tell her what caused it.

But Katia knows the Brian she remembers is still inside there somewhere.

She’s seen a flicker of it in his eyes when he comes in close and tells her to stay away. She’s determined to find the real Brian.

(view spoiler)[I have mixed feeling about Brian. I feel bad for everything that he went through. However, he doesn't always have to be a jerk. At least we are finally starting to know what happened with the sister. I just hope we finally find out everything that happened. (hide spoiler)]

I'm up to Chapter 21.


(view spoiler)[I was disappointed with how everything went down with Adam. So now conveniently her and Brian can be together. Although, I'm glad that they finally are because it was obvious they wanted to be together. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I have mixed feelings about the ending of this book. Now Adam is coming back and Brian moved away. Considering how things ended with Adam I was surprised that he decided to come back. (hide spoiler)]

ch 15 (view spoiler)[ It's really sad that Brian's sister died while he was watching her. He probably could use therapy to help him deal with the guilt. Adam is jealous and it's a bit annoying, but he should tell Katia that he likes her (hide spoiler)]

I really hated how everything got with Adam. It was hard for Katia because neither Adam or Brian liked each other.
