Oust all round descaler.

I must recommend this. It doesn't get much more fun than Oust descaler. Pop it in your knackered coffee maker and it makes it as good as new

Flushed (ahem) with success I then put the discarded water in my kettle and boiled it. Brilliant fun. The very frothy water pumps out of the spout at a gallon a second all over the kitchen.

I have now descaler everything.

White vinegar works just as well. If you can find it in this country.

Or alternatively you can drink the softest and purest water in the world and let lesser breeds without the law worry about such things

Properly designed magnetic descalers stop it happening in the first place by altering the salts before they precipitate (HA!) - need to watch out for the snake oil though!!
