Paul Wonders | 2 comments Hello, I've just published a somewhat experimental ebook called Apollo and Stella. Each of the 40 pages here feature looping animations. This is a story about the daring flight of two young refugees told in the language of fable and framed within the trappings of an interstellar voyage. Probably best for kids in the 6-8 age range. It touches on themes of grief, bravery, and friendship.

Unfortunately, Kindle devices do not play nicely with .gifs, so I am only able to offer the ebook on Apple's bookstore, and a physical version of this work will be impractical. There's a fifteen-page preview available, and I'm happy to provide promo codes for anyone interested in leaving an honest review--just send me a message.

I don't want to clog up site bandwidth with a ton of images here, but I'd like to give you some idea of what this looks like in action. Thanks for checking this out!

Deep in the cold of space, in the belly of a silver starship, sits a boy with hair as red as a dying sun. A girl of a younger age sits close beside with hair as black as space itself. Together they fly to a new home just beyond the glow of the nearest star.

In space you will find no morning light, no evening shadows, no noontime sun. Time does not pass day by day but story by story and song by song. So the boy Apollo begins to weave a tale.

"Long ago, in the world that once was, in the heart of a great ocean, Cronus the Able planted an island. On that island, he planted flowers. Beside the flowers, he planted plum trees."
