luna ☾ (lunargoddessera) This is the one I've been focusing on more out of our two books when I have free time and I can't remember which chapter I'm in but I am at around 28%. I will update tomorrow with the right chapter number! :D

luna ☾ (lunargoddessera) It took me this long to realize their names are both months... January and August(us)................................................. idk how to feel about this 😂

Honestly, I completely forgot that this is somewhat of an enemies-to-lovers situation and I'm all about that.

Chapter 14 honestly made me disappointed in Gus for leaving. Also I'm into the premise of the book January is writing and I kinda want to read it.

luna ☾ (lunargoddessera) Oof, I know we've both finished it so I can just speak freely.

but like, same! I was disappointed a little in Gus at how he handles things. But I'm also quite disappointed in January for demanding the truth about his past.

I usually hate secret keeping in books. But I think there's a difference in secret keeping where it's either you're keeping a secret about your own PERSONAL life that no one is entitled to and no one should demand from you, or you're keeping a secret that directly affects someone and they do deserve to know about it.

No one is entitled to your life history. What difference did it make if he was married and he didn't tell her? Let people tell you about themselves on their own time ffs.

Like those were the only things that bothered me about the book: Gus not being able to see that he's hurting January and January pretty much dragging his personal shit out when they haven't even known each other for a significant amount of time. But it didn't bother me enough for me to lower my rating lol

I agree with that to a certain extent but it still kinda annoyed me when Gus was all like "you can tell anything" to January but not the other way around.

And I was a little annoyed at both of them because they were so damn stubborn and indecisive at times like please choose which made the ending all the more satisfying because they finally made a decision on their relationship. Like I know I'm indecisive when it comes to certain things but that doesn't mean it's not frustrating to read about.

Also I liked how there was more than just the romance plot line and that there were other threads in the story like the grief and all the cult stuff. Personally, I wouldn't mind reading more about that because I felt that it was kinda glossed over. And I kinda wanted there to be excerpts of their books thrown in at the beginning of the chapters because I love stories within stories.
