Steve Van Slyke (steve_van_slyke) | 400 comments Quite a while back Power, Sex, Suicide: Mitochondria and the Meaning of Life was our group read for the month. I've been wanting to read another book by Nick Lane since then.

So, I am starting Oxygen: The Molecule That Made the World today and if anyone else wants to read it, or has read it, I would enjoy hearing comments.

Leonardo Noto (leonardonoto) | 114 comments I haven't read the book, but I have pondered the irony that advanced life was made possible by prehistoric pollution with a poisonous molecule that drove a mass extinction and fundamentally changed the biosphere of the Earth. I wonder if one day some advanced species of super plants will look back on our massive release of CO2 the same way!
