The Nerd Herd discussion

In this challenge everyone who signs up will be split into two teams run by MODs. The aim is to get as many points as you can in the month by reading books in a chosen genre, the chosen stand alone book or the chosen series. The team with the most points at the end of the month wins!

There is a thread where you can sign up and then another thread for each team. Reserve a comment on your teams thread so you can record what you have read and how many points you have ^-^ enjoy!!!

Point system:

Genre books
1-100 (pages) 1 pt
101-200: 3 pts
201-300: 5 pts
301-400: 7 pts
and so on
Genre series complete: extra 3 pts
Genre series complete but started before: extra 2 pts


Stand alone book: 8 pts


Series:
book 1: 5 pts
book 2: 5 pts
and so on (5 pts per book)
Complete series: extra 5 pts
Complete series but started before: extra 3 pts

U r going to choose many genre books ?

Or just one ??

One genre is picked each month, say fantasy was picked then team members can gain points by reading any books in that genre ^-^

What if the stand alone or the series chosen are books that a member has already read ? Do the said member have to re-read them ?

No, you don't have to read book you have already read. Instead you could read a book from the months genre c:
And if you don't want to read a series or stand alone or can't get them in time, also just read genre books ^-^

You don't have to read the same book. You cab read the book chosen, the series chosen and/or ANY books from the genre chosen ^-^

Only books that you start reading in February count and technically the sign ups are closed, but if you wish you can join my team as i have one less member than Christiana?

You can join me team now, but the book you are halfway through won't give us any points ^-^

As in you can't gain points for a book that you started reading in the month before (January) :(
