Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I don't have a single book for the shoe cover

message 302: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I think next I will read a humorous A Dirty Job

message 303: by Roz (new)

Roz | 4536 comments I have Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. I should be able to read it foe "shoes".

message 304: by Lanelle (last edited Feb 09, 2015 08:41PM) (new)

Lanelle | 4026 comments I am reading Bubba and the 12 Deadly Days of Christmas (Bubba Snoddy, #2) by C.L. Bevill right now. It will fit the shoes task.

I was reading it for Famous Couples - Scooby Do and Shaggy. Or a job I'd want my date to have. (Bubba is a mechanic.) Whichever works.

message 305: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Elizabeth | 95 comments Good morning team! I am reading a third book right now, The Triple Agent: The al-Qaeda Mole who Infiltrated the CIA, which can fill the Non Fiction slot.

message 306: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Way to go everyone for reading all the books you have read so far..and it's only Tuesday (well for me at least).

Teamwork photo teamwork.jpg

message 307: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments RE Shoes - Seen as Lanelle is already reading a book that will fit we'll go with that one :)

message 308: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Jennifer wrote: "Lynn. I actually just finished a book, not sure if it fits any of the categories though. I will check next time I'm on the computer."

I'd be very surprised if you don't find something that will fit.

message 309: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Lynn, I haven't heard back from Sarah Jigz :(

message 310: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Well at least she didn't have a bonus category. Still time for her to turn up and say she's read something but if not, we'll just be one man down.

message 311: by Danny (new)

Danny (dannyx) | 48 comments Stephanie wrote: "Lynn, I haven't heard back from Sarah Jigz :("

Hey Lynn/Steph, I saw that Sarah Jigz was the only one down for a dystopian novel and I bought a copy of The Giver with my recent ebook purchases so I'll swap it out as my book 6 in case no one else is covering that category.

message 312: by Lynn (last edited Feb 10, 2015 05:41AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments So just an update of what's happening:

We've read 33 books so far.
330 point earned so far (no bonus completed yet).

The Bonus reads will still need to complete:
Eyes - Dominique
Legs - That would be me
Shoes - Lanelle

South America - Cherie

Part of a Series - Stephanie
I've actually lost track of who's taking care of this one (my bad).
The possibilities were Annette, Stephanie and Roz but for some reason I've lost my note of who we assigned it to. Can anyone remember? If not, I'll just look through the posts.

I'm actually trying to fill as many categories as possible, so any duplicates I'm going to go through at some point and see where else they can fit.
So watch out, I may have to ask some questions about the books.

message 313: by Kazen (last edited Feb 10, 2015 05:31AM) (new)

Kazen My first two reads are each part of a series, so you can reassign one of those if you like. :)

PS - we rock!!

message 314: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Thanks Kazen, I'll keep that in mind

message 315: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I'm reading Thereby Hangs a Tail for the series read, Lynn :)

message 316: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Thank you, Danny, in regards to the Distopian book! Sorry I can't hit reply on the app :(
Lynn does that work for, Danny?

message 317: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Stephanie wrote: "I'm reading Thereby Hangs a Tail for the series read, Lynn :)"

Aha! Thanks Stephanie :)

Stephanie, Danny - Yes that's good.

message 318: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4026 comments Kazen is right. We rock!

message 319: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Annette re Alice Close Your Eyes

So your book ended up duplicating the category On an Island (I understand the reasons why) so I'm just trying to see if it will fit anywhere else.
It doesn't look too likely, the only categories there is a question mark over is:
MC has a job that you’d like your date to have
MC has a job that you’d like your date to have

I highly doubt this book even mentioned their job but thought it worth asking.

Otherwise Travis does your book, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, fit any category that isn't filled yet?
Isn't the MC a book store owner? Surely that would be a great job for all our dates to have! lol

message 320: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments You can switch me there Lynn. No problem

message 321: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Excellent :)

message 322: by Lynn (last edited Feb 10, 2015 08:35AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Ok, regular categories that haven't been filled are:
(not sure why I'm trying to achieve this .... I think out of neatness??)

- MC has a job that you don’t want your date to have
- Adam and Eve – A fable, fairytale, myth, legend (original or retelling)
- June and Ward Cleaver – Read a post-apocalyptic book
- Mickey and Minnie Mouse - Animal is a main character
- Bella and Edward (Twilight) – Read a horror book
- Hazel Grace and Augustus – Read a tearjerker

(There are two other categories on the spreadsheet not completed but they will be filled by Danny - Dystopian book and Me - Sexy book)

If you can read a book that fits the above then great.
Don't stress about it too much though as it's NOT compulsory for us to do this.

The only duplicate I have left now after a couple of swaps is Kazen's The Last Werewolf and Danny's Hawk & Fisher. If any of the above fit, then let me know.

message 323: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Thereby Hangs a Tail would also fit the Mickey and Minnie Mouse category as the main character is a dog. The story is told from his perspective :) I know you had said we would stick to what we had in regards to me and Jennifer but if she had a book already that is a series then mine can be swapped if you want :) just trying to give options so we have all the bases covered ;)

message 324: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Never mind..I see her book fit the broke back category as well..just ignore me..I'm trying to over help, lol!

message 325: by Lynn (last edited Feb 10, 2015 06:33AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Ooohh I might swap for that one Stephanie, I think the Mickey / Minnie Mouse category will be harder to fill than others.

Actually that solves my duplicate problem, both Kazen and Danny's books were from a series!

message 326: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Sweet!!

message 327: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Also means ....

FIRST BONUS SECTION COMPLETED! :)

message 328: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Right, I suppose I ought to do some work!

message 329: by Annette (last edited Feb 10, 2015 07:08AM) (new)

Annette Olsen | 205 comments Lynn wrote: "Annette re Alice Close Your Eyes

It doesn't look..."

Actually the main character in the book is a writer and it is a pretty integral part of the character so it could work for a job I'd like my date to have.

The other main character works construction and that's important to his character as well and since it is seasonal work... it could count as a job I wouldn't like my date to have. Whichever helps out the most.

It could also count as a crime thriller or a sexy book. Hope that helps. :)

message 330: by Annette (last edited Feb 10, 2015 07:17AM) (new)

Annette Olsen | 205 comments Lynn question. I just started my book that was supposed to be
part of a series but I see that it's already covered. Cobweb Bride: The Complete Trilogy: I'm currently reading the first book. The book could also count as a book with royalty or a fairy tale since it is the new twist on the story of Persephone.

The book I was going to read that was supposed to count as royalty could count as young adult... but I don't know where else it would fit.

Or I have time I could gopher another book to cover something else we are missing. What do you think?

message 331: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I can handle a horror. Let me gopher

message 332: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Horror Bethany's Sin
Post apocalyptic Rot and Ruin
I'll take both I already own both so no problem

message 333: by Annette (new)

Annette Olsen | 205 comments My next book is a horror book. So that is covered.

message 334: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I'll go straight to the post apocalyptic next then

message 335: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Annette - I'd love to cover all the categories but that's just my own goal, not a goal that's needed for the toppler.

Don't put yourself out if it's gonna be a pain, but if it's easy to change your plans then great. The list is above as you've seen.

message 336: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Oh excellent, well done Travis and Annette :)

message 337: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4026 comments I've finished reading Bubba and the 12 Deadly Days of Christmas. I sure have enjoyed these books. Tons of fun. I'll go to the reporting thread and then figure out what book to read next.

message 338: by Lynn (last edited Feb 10, 2015 03:25PM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments So a lot of moving around and working out this afternoon, to clarify where we stand:

The Bonus reads will still need to complete:

Eyes - Dominique
Legs - That would be me

South America - Cherie

Regular categories that haven't been filled are (remember not compulsory):

Katniss & Peeta, Read a dystopian book - Danny
Johnny Depp and Debra, Read a sexy book - Lynn
June and Ward Cleaver, Read a post-apocalyptic book - Travis
Bella and Edward (Twilight), Read a horror book - Annette
Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Animal is a main character - Stephanie
MC has a job that you don’t want your date to have - Lanelle
Adam and Eve, A fable, fairytale, myth, legend (original or retelling) - still need an offer from someone to read
Hazel Grace and Augustus, Read a tearjerker - Danny

message 339: by Lynn (last edited Feb 10, 2015 08:59AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments However, if you can't read any of the above slots left ..... just read, as any book even as a duplicate means points :)

message 340: by Lanelle (last edited Feb 10, 2015 09:02AM) (new)

Lanelle | 4026 comments Lynn, I'll take the job I wouldn't want my date to have. I'll read There's a New Sheriff in Town.

By the way, thanks for keeping us organized. It is a huge job, I'm sure.

message 341: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Lovely :)

message 342: by Stephanie (new)

message 348: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie No worries, Roz! We will still get points for the read if it doesn't :)
