Stephanie Ditto :-)

Thanks Danny!

So if everyone reads what they say they will, we only have one category to fill. Adam and Eve, A fable, fairytale, myth, legend ....

message 353: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Roz - As Stephanie says, don't worry about it. It's all points at the end of the day. Me swapping people about is my need to fill in the gaps :)

message 354: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Hmm I wonder if Percy Jackson books would count as a myth?

message 355: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Yes, they are most definitely based around mythology and are tagged as that on Goodreads

message 356: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I may be able to take it then as I just downloaded the 2nd Percy Jackson book for audio :) I know I said I would only do 3 books but what's one more, right?

message 357: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Exactly and you've got 3 and half days to do it in :)

message 358: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Right, I only popped on after coming home from choir to see if I'd missed anything. I'm gonna settle down in bed and carry on reading.

I'll check in the morning to see if you've decided to go for it Stephanie.

message 359: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Sounds good :) I'm about half way through my 3rd read so I should be able to swing the audio for the Percy Jackson book :) I'll see how far I get tonight in my book!

message 360: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Still havevto go report in other thread but finished A Dirty Job for humor. But what a tearjerker. Meaning couple parts laugjed so hard I almost cried. Moore doesn't write the great American novel but can't beat them for cheap laughs.

message 361: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Lynn..I'll take that task we were talking about an listen to Percy Jackson, Sea of Monsters. I have less than 100 pages to go in my 3rd book which I will likely finish early tomorrow :)

message 362: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Lynn,
My first book was part of a series, if you still need to know that.

I have not been reading the other team's scores or posts. There is too many to keep up with.

Thanks for the great work on the spreadsheet, too, Lynn.

Great reading everyone!

message 363: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Lynn - I have Fairest on my Nook, but I am not sure I can fit it in. I need to finish Bel Canto first.

message 364: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Stephanie - I'm a little worried that Dominique's book for eyes won't qualify. The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick

Can you check to see if it will please?

message 365: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments If it doesn't, can people who have time to read another book have a rummage around to see if they can find something appropriate. Thanks :)

message 366: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Cherie wrote: "Lynn - I have Fairest on my Nook, but I am not sure I can fit it in. I need to finish Bel Canto first."

It depends whether Stephanie is sure she'll finish her book or not, if there is a doubt it might be worth reading as a back up.

message 367: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Where we currently stand:

430 points total.

The Bonus reads will still need to complete:

Eyes - Dominique (completed but asked for a ruling from Jmom)
Legs - Lynn (my next read)

South America - Cherie

Regular categories that haven't been filled are (remember not compulsory):

Johnny Depp and Debra, Read a sexy book - Lynn (currently reading and nearly finished)
June and Ward Cleaver, Read a post-apocalyptic book - Travis
Bella and Edward (Twilight), Read a horror book - Annette
Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Animal is a main character - Stephanie
Adam and Eve, A fable, fairytale, myth, legend (original or retelling) - Stephanie

If you're not reading one of the above, then just read what you like and fit it into any of the characters.
Please bear in mind my above post about Eyes category. If you can find one, then please do read that.

message 368: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I will head over and ask for a ruling for Dominique's book. I will be able to finish the ones listed for me :) it is 8am here and I'm about to read the rest of Thereby Hangs a Tail and will start my audios for Percy Jackson after that :)

message 369: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Elizabeth | 95 comments Lynn, I don't think this will work, but the ebook I'm reading has the man's head as the main focus. The Triple Agent The al-Qaeda Mole who Infiltrated the CIA by Joby Warrick Would that work for eyes? If not, I can gopher another book and start that ASAP.

If anyone knows of any books with eyes with a page count closer to 200 let me know!

No that wouldn't work Jessica.

Dominique's book might pass but I think it's boderline. I think Jmom is looking for the majority of the cover to be about the subject such as:
Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer Sight by Adrienne Maria Vrettos

Plenty can be found on listopia, a couple of list examples:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8...

message 371: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Elizabeth | 95 comments Actually, that 3rd book you posted looks good. Would you like me to start reading that just in case?

message 372: by Lynn (last edited Feb 11, 2015 05:32AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Yeah, that would be great Jessica. Just bear in mind that Dominques book may be ok and I'm worrying for nothing.

If you want to read it regardless then go ahead but hold off until we get a ruling if you'd only read it because of this task.

message 373: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments This is the cover of my post apocalyptic read may be good for eyes if necessary. I will still post it as post apocalyptic wjen I'm finished though. Rot and Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry

message 374: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Indeed it would Travis .... but then we'd have to find another post apocalyptic read, but I suppose it's best to fill the eye category first.

We'll see how things pan out with the ruling and Jessica's offer to read Sight

message 375: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Just figured I'd throw it out there as a back up just in case saturday came and we needed an eye book. That's why I'll still post it as PA

message 376: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Yes, much appreciated :)

message 377: by Stephanie (last edited Feb 11, 2015 06:51AM) (new)

Stephanie Finished my 3rd read...off to report..

Starting The Sea of Monsters for category: Adam and Eve – Read a fable, fairytale, myth, legend – can be original or retelling

I haven't heard back on the ruling for Dominique's eye book yet.

message 378: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Hi, Lynn! Hear back from Jmom and Dominiques book, silver linings playbook qualifies for eyes :)

message 379: by Danny (new)

Danny (dannyx) | 48 comments Ok so I just finished book 8 In Flight (Up in the Air, #1) by R.K. Lilley for the sexy category and boy oh boy what can I say! I haven't read Fifty Shades yet because BDSM just never really seemed my thing I guess (yeah I can be a conservative prude if I try hard enough when it comes on to certain things) but this was. ....even 'steamy' seems too conservative! The characters had a certain raw depth that I truly enjoyed and seriously who hasn't thought about joining the mile high club at least once! The only negative for me was that it left me on a cliffhanger which forces me to read the next book in the series and I have a feeling conservative I will no longer be after going down that road!!! Lol

message 380: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I read all the 50 shades books mostly because it was a popular book and was free on kindle :) not something I would normally read..book one was awful and abusive (in my opinion) but the other 2 books focused more on the "relationship" at least that's what I got out of it, lol!

message 381: by Annette (new)

Annette Olsen | 205 comments Starting my horror book next. Hope I won't be up all night.

message 383: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I want to thank the team for allowing me to read a book set in South America, even if it is not specified exactly where. Bel Canto is nothing like I thought it would be! It is so much more of a story than a hostage situation. I am a little more than halfway through. :)

I'm glad you did, Jessica. I've been curious.

message 388: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Wow, you guys rock! Some people are averaging more than a book a day; I can't imagine it. Working on my... Fourth?... right now, hopefully I'll be able to wrap it up tomorrow. Keep up the great work, everyone! :D

message 389: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments #8 done a 1 star read Gateway if we werent in a toppler i would have junked this one. Luckily half through Bethany's Sinba horror but so entertaining. I love McCammon

message 390: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I'm about half way through Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. I'm listening to the audio which I'm glad for because I'm not really enjoying it much :( I like the movie better so far. I don't like the narrator's version on Tyson. He is making him sound dumb when in the movie he isn't dumb at all..at least what I remember.

message 392: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4026 comments I'm starting my next book. It is A Matter of Class.

Possible categories:

Where is your date from? set on an island

Famous Couples:
Samson and Delilah
Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett
Jack and Ennis - this is the theme of the book, daughter of an Earl wants to marry a nobody

message 393: by Lynn (last edited Feb 12, 2015 08:07AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Soooooooo, update!

All bonus sections complete! :D

We only have one category left to fill (Annette and I think Travis are on with horror books at the moment).

I've also fiddled with the spreadsheet so the top line of names now show how many books each of us have read (rather than what we are willing to read).

message 394: by Lynn (last edited Feb 12, 2015 08:10AM) (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments It would be useful now that we are coming to the end of the week that all of you could check your column just to make sure I've not made any mistakes. Thanks.

Keep reading though! :)

message 395: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Thank you Lynn for doing all the spreadsheet work :)

message 396: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I'm reading a 4th book (audio) . Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters for myth. I had already started it when someone said they had completed a book for it so I guess it will be added as an extra book :)

Camilla | 2105 comments Jessica wrote: "I snooped at the other teams' scores. I couldn't help myself. We are kicking butt!!!"

Stephanie We sure do :-)

message 399: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments All categories have been been completed! :D

message 400: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Now, shall we see if we can fill the categories twice?

HA HA, Joke obviously!
