message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Seriously?

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Yup. Mark Twain was the pen name of a man named Samuel Clemmins, he spent some of his life by the river so gphe would have heard, "Mark Tawin!" being called so that the crewmembers of the riverboats would know to mark 'two fathoms'.
