Pittacus Lore finished telling the story of the Lorien Nine. Now, he’s back to recount an all-new adventure rooted in the real mysteries surrounding Roswell, New Mexico, that will enthrall fans of Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufman, and Brandon Sanderson.

We have waited generations for you…

Syd Chambers knows that there’s life on other planets because he’s descended from it. His father was from a distant world called Denza, and has been missing—presumed dead—for years.

When Syd discovers a device his father left behind that shows not only that he’s alive, but where he is, Syd must set out on a mission of his own. But along the way, he discovers a deadly, unbearable secret that could destroy Denza, Earth, and the universe.

I honestly don't remember anything that happened :/ Perhaps a real narrator would be better but I don't think I would have loved the book anyway

I agree, like it could be good if it had a real person narrator and cleared up some of the confusion

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 1993 comments Starting today

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 1993 comments That was rough man oh man!

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 1993 comments https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Here's my non spoiler review

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 1993 comments The scope was so big and there were too many characters. I would rather less characters and more explanations and character development dialogue etc

(view spoiler)

Trisha | 6805 comments oh no! I was worried about this one. Sorry you didn't like it! yikes.

Trisha | 6805 comments Through Part 1

I'm liking it so far (view spoiler)

Trisha | 6805 comments Through Part 2

I'm still really liking it (view spoiler)

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 1993 comments I'm glad at least one of us liked it!

I'm curious, do you read a lot of sci fi? I feel like I do and I'm wondering if that's why I didn't like it. Because it didn't reach what I expect from a good sci fi novel

Trisha | 6805 comments hmmm....I don't think I read a lot of Sci-fi.... but I had to look back through my books to see!
I read a lot of contemporary Mysteries, Thrillers & Suspense. I love horror, True Crime but not necessarily fantasy or sci-fi.

Yeah, I'm not sure why I'm liking this one more than you guys....

It's great! We all like different things! I'm just curious because unlike fantasy which can be wildly different every book with some similar aspects, sci fi seems hard for authors to make unique sometimes because it's usually always spaceships, aliens, etc. Sometimes I find one that's amazing, but when I read too many they all start to seem mediocre. The best one I've read so far is Children of Time

Trisha | 6805 comments Nice, maybe it's because I don't read it much?
I think my favorite sci-fi, or at least the one I think about a lot is the Southern Reach but it might be because it's pretty close to horror :)

I've never even heard of the one above but I'll add it to my shelves!! Thank you!!

Ruthie (ruthieram_reads) | 1993 comments I'll have to check out Southern Reach!

I like the spaceships, aliens, etc but I like when an author can make it different than other sci fi I've read, which can seem like it's hard for them to do
