🌹The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 5🌹🌹Theme - Quarantine Dating🌹
The dates will begin on Saturdays at 6 PM EST, at that time the task for each date will be announced. Books must be completed and posted by the following Friday at Midnight EST, except when on your 'Romantic Getaway' when you will have until the second Friday. Roses will be awarded before the next date begins. Each date we will be working towards spelling out B-A-C-H-E-L-O-R. The tasks for each letter will be posted in advance, but you will not know which task will be used until the date begins.
Roses are earned by:
🌹 The First Rose 🌹 Teams earn this rose by reading 4 books fitting the task during the date. (One rose possible per team per date.)
Bonus roses may be earned by:
🌹 Speed Dating Rose 🌹 The team that has 4 members finishing 4 books (1 each) and posts in the Q&A/Announcement thread first wins this bonus rose. Note, posting is required to earn this rose. (One rose possible per date.)
🌹 Team Dating Roses 🌹 Teams with each member completing the task (with a minimum of 6 books read) earn 3 additional roses. (Three roses possible per team per date.)
🌹 Serial Dating Rose 🌹 For every multiple of 8 books read, teams will earn a rose. So 8 books is one rose, 16 books is 2 roses, 24 books is 3 roses and so on. (Number of roses will vary each date, maximum of 7 per team per date.)
🌹 Multiple Date Rose 🌹 The player who reads the most books for the date earns this bonus rose for their team. (One rose possible per date unless there is a tie.)
🌹 Longest Date Rose 🌹 The player that reads the longest book for the date earns this bonus rose for their team. Please note that boxed sets will NOT be counted towards this rose! (One rose possible per date unless there is a tie.)
🌹 Compulsive Dater Rose 🌹 The player that reads the most combined pages for the date, first edition Kindle only for page count, earns this bonus rose. (One rose possible per date unless there is a tie.)
🌹 Page Turner Rose 🌹 The team that reads the most combined pages for the date, first edition Kindle only for page count, earns this bonus rose. (One rose possible per date unless there is a tie.)
🌹 Scavenger Hunt Rose 🌹This special rose is earned by finding a book that fits each rule for the letter the date represents, for example B is for Backcountry (rural setting), Black (black cover), Bogeyman (PNR) and Brag (nominated for or won an award). After posting your completion, post in the Scavenger Hunt thread to claim the book. Both posts, in your team thread and the Scavenger Hunt thread, should list the qualifications for each task, i.e. be identical. This rose may be earned multiple times per date but only once per book. The first person to post each book claims the rose for that book. (Number of roses available per date will vary, maximum of 7 per person per date.)
Teams will not be eliminated even if they earn no roses, they will have a chance to catch up by earning additional roses on other dates. Players will be eliminated if they do not complete the task on two consecutive dates. Eliminated players will not be replaced. Remember, players are allowed to read multiple books for a given date in order to earn bonuses and/or to make up for teammates who do not read their book or who have been eliminated.

If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book.

Although you will not need to make selection posts like in the PtP, your teammates might like ideas for what to read so sharing what you are reading could be very helpful. If you choose to make selections posts, make sure they are clearly identified as such. If you have any question if your book qualifies, it would be better to find out before you read it - ask your teammates or in the Q&A/Announcement thread.
DO NOT DELETE COMMENTS OR POSTS! Even if your book doesn't qualify or you are asked for corrections, do not delete your comment. Deleted comments will confuse the tracking and may lead to books being missed! If you wish, you may strike through your comment using < s > ... < /s > without the spaces, but do not delete the comment or post!
🌹The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 4=5🌹🌹Theme - Quarantine Dating🌹
Books must be 90 pages and MPG Romance. Contemporary Romance, Historical Romance, Paranormal Romance or similar is acceptable, but it must be romance. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS on the MPG Romance rule. We will be using the English language first edition Kindle page count ONLY for this challenge. Audiobooks and rereads are ok. Abridged audiobooks are NOT ALLOWED for this challenge. Books can only be read once per person during the challenge even if it fits multiple categories. Once the task for the date is announced, you may not tag a book so that it fits or edit any lists - this must be done before the date begins.
MPG = Main Page Genre:
On the main page of the book on the right hand side there is a section that says "Genres". Anything listed under that section is counted as an MPG.
MPG Romance = Main Page Genre Romance:
In the "Genres" section described above, there must be 'Romance". It could be Contemporary Romance, Historical Romance, Paranormal Romance or MM Romance, but it has to have 'Romance' listed.
❤️ Completion Posts ❤️When making your completion posts, remember you must include how the book/s qualify. If the task states, for example (and this is just an example!):
A is for Athlete - Read a sports romance, qualification from the title, précis, list or tags.
Saying 'the hero is a runner' or 'MC is an athlete' doesn't qualify the book. Using 'précis states that hero is a football player' or 'tagged sports by 7 people' does qualify the book. Remember that links are required for lists, tags and different editions.
Also, when using the cover as the qualifier, post the cover image in your completion.
Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

Date Tasks
At the beginning of each date, one of the tasks for that week's letter will be randomly selected. The letters will be used in order. You will need to read a book that meets the task requirements, as well as the other requirements listed above, to complete the task.
B is for Backcountry - Read a book with a rural setting such as a ranch, farm or mountains.
B is for Black - Read a book with a primarily black cover.
B is for Bogeyman - Read a book tagged as 'PNR' or 'paranormal'.
B is for Brag - Read a book that has won or been nominated for an award.
A is for Abroad - Read a book set outside the US.
A is for Acclimate - Read a book by a new to you author.
A is for Alibi - Read a Romantic Suspense book.
A is for Apple - Read a book with a school setting or one featuring teacher or student.
C is for Calendar - Read a time-travel romance.
C is for Canada - Read a book set in Canada or written by a Canadian author.
C is for Ciao - Read a book that is the last or most recent in a series.

I'm totally new to this challenge but I'm a seasoned challenge player (I've been a member of this group for 10+ years) so very likely I won't have the answer to your questions but I can figure them out. :) Please check in, tell us about yourself and let us know your team name suggestions - theme is Quarantine Dating! Ok, here's my official intro. :)I'm D.G. from NYC. I'm a widow, no kids and I read mostly romance these days (but nothing very dark).
I like to talk about books so I fall in the "chatty" box. Competition wise, I like to be in contention but not kill myself to try to win. That said, I go with the flow of the group. If folks are laid back, I'll slow down but if they're competitive, I speed up. That said, I also don't buy books for challenges so I mostly use my TBR or what I can get at the library.

Hi D.G, I am Diane. I am married, mother of 4 (son 26, son 24, daughter 22 and non-binary child 17), and live in Toronto. I have been doing challenges for years in the M/M Romance group, but this is my first time with this challenge and in this group. I read exclusively M/M Romance books and although it would be nice to win, having a fun time playing is more important to me. I do like getting to know my teammates, but I am living in a busy household (yes all 4 kids and husband are at home during this lovely pandemic) so I don't always have as much time as I would like.I am a little anxious about the postings and getting everything correct. I am not sure about how to post links, so I may need some help in the beginning until I figure it out.
I am total crap at coming up with team names, but I do like "Love in the Time of Webex". I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Team! I’m Annette. I live in the suburbs of Chicago, so I’m on CST. I live with my fiancé. We were supposed to get married back in August but Covid so now the plan is May. As much as that had sucked, all of that extra time got me back into reading. Prior to this year, I would only read about 1-3 books a year and only on vacation. Now, it’s my favorite thing to do in my spare time!This is my second time doing the Bachelor challenge, and I loved it the first time! For the new people, I would say it was overwhelming for me the first time for 2-3 days since it was my first challenge ever, but it’s very easy to get in the swing of it! I’m a huge Bachelor fan, so that may also be why I love this challenge so much.
I agree with D.G. that I want to stay in contention to keep myself motivated, but I’m a semi slow reader, so I don’t think I can be too competitive and don’t want reading to become overly stressful. I also am chatty, so I’m happy to hear that others are too! I mainly read contemporary romance, but I would say nothing is off limits as long as the plot sounds interesting.
I’m good with Love in the Time of WebEx!

Good morning everybody!I have an interview tomorrow (looking for a promotion at work) so I'll try not to check in too often today (who am I kidding? hahaha!) Need to prepare and I haven't done much!!
I've already done some prep work and started looking for book that fit the tasks for the first week - no luck so far finding a book that could work for the Scavenger Hunt. PNR and Farms don't go that well together!!

I spent a lot of time searching for an SH book a few days ago, and it was also a fail. Do we want to create a separate group to discuss SH roses freely? I did that the last time we did the challenge, and it was a lot easier because then we were able to throw out ideas more freely. Also, that way if someone finds an SH that they aren’t interested in reading, someone else in the group may like it instead.
I asked this in the Q&A thread because I wasn't sure but am I right to think that only one person can claim a SH book for the whole challenge? In that case, we shouldn't discuss it here because somebody from some other team can steal it!Great idea on the separate group! So i am Laura. im from the Isle of Wight 32, my mum moved to Greece about 15 years ago, during one of my visits to her we went to the big outdoor nightclub i fell in love with the cheeky barman, 13 years married and two kids later 3 & 5 both boys.... Im still here in Greece. I work seasonally as a receptionist at adult only hotel and spa... Also part time at a jewelers. I love paranormal romance first and foremost but i do love enemy to lover books too..... love me a bad boy oh and the millionaire boss... im semi competitive... will try my best... i think its my 4th or 5th time playing always fun look forward to the game with you all.;

Hello- I'm at my computer so I can type a bit more freely now :)I'm Michaele (pronounced like Michael). I live in Utah - in the Salt Lake City area. I teach history and for some reason that has resulted in me pretty much hating historical romance - so I stick to contemporary. I don't read much PNR or Sci-Fi, but I'm willing to for a challenge. I also mostly read MM now - though again I'll read MF for a challenge :). This year I've ended up re-reading a lot of books - I think part of it was for comfort (predictability suddenly became a good thing) and because it was cheaper.
This is the third time I've done this challenge, it's a lot of fun! And once you get a hang of the rules it's not difficult to follow along. I'm fairly easy-going competition-wise, but I read a lot (mostly audiobooks) so I can help if we want to be competitive, but I won't be upset if people are just here for fun and not to win.

B is for Backcountry - Read a book with a rural setting such as a ranch, farm or mountains.
To qualify for this task, the title, series title, précis, list or tag would need to indicate that the selected book has a rural setting. In addition to the settings listed above (or other similar), you can also use references to occupations that are primarily in rural settings: cowboy, park ranger, wilderness guide, etc. Remember, I am super picky about combo-tags!
B is for Black - Read a book with a primarily black cover.
To qualify, the cover needs to be primarily black. Include the qualifying cover in your completion post. If in doubt, please ask..
B is for Bogeyman - Read a book tagged as 'PNR' or 'paranormal'.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be tagged as 'PNR' or 'paranormal', alone or in combination. The qualification for this task comes from tags/shelves ONLY. The tag does not have to be MPG, but the book must be tagged at least once to qualify. Please include a link to the top shelves page of your book's qualifying tag (not to the people who have used that tag or to the shelf for the tag!), the number of tags and the top shelves page number in your completion post. This information helps if the link is broken or if the tag moves as they frequently do.
B is for Brag - Read a book that has won or been nominated for an award.
To qualify, the GR main book page will include a listing of the award or nomination under 'Literary Awards' in the book info. The following list(s) will make searching easier, but the qualification will still be from the GR main book page.
Michaele, I asked some of my friends for favorite narrators and I got Iggy Toma, Vikas Adam and Chris Chambers. Am pretty sure I have heard Iggy Toma, but not the other two.
