Booknblues | 12098 comments We don't seem to have a thread for this yet, so I thought I would start one. I always love poring over books which will be published shortly and I always manage to had to both my tbr and wishlist.

Here is a list I found today ( and added 9 to wishlist.)

I put all of those on the wishlist, but I noticed that Rule of Wolves, was the second in a series and haven't checked out the first.

Kimber (kimberwolf) | 845 comments Oooh, thanks for sharing this list, I hadn't heard of any of these yet, but I'm drawn in by the descriptions of The Last Garden in England, The Paris Library, and The Barbizon.

I added 9 from this list. Of those, the three that I'm most curious about are The Recent East (a new premise for me); What Comes After; and Whereabouts.

message 8: by Jason (new)

Jason Oliver | 3049 comments I'm very excited about The Code Breaker by Walter Isaacson. Coming in March.

I added about half of them and The Recent East was one of them.

Robin P | 5763 comments So much for our resolutions to read from books we already own! Some time ago, a conversation topic came up about what we would think at the end of our lives, and mine wasn’t about my family or my legacy to the world, but about all the new books I would miss out on!

Booknblues | 12098 comments Theresa wrote: "I have added Whereabouts by Jhumpa Lahiri, Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead, and While Justice Sleeps by [author:Stace..."

I added Great Circle and While Justice Sleeps to my wishlist. I read a romantic suspense by Abrams last month and I'm eager to see how she is progressing as an author.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I added 6 from the first list, and 12 from the second!

Haha! Something similar used to cross my mind for tv shows when I watched more tv. If I die, I'm not going to find out what happens!

message 15: by Jenni Elyse (new)

Jenni Elyse (jenni_elyse) I added a few from both lists, mostly from the first one, though.

Thanks, added a few from that as well.

message 27: by Kimber (new)

Kimber (kimberwolf) | 845 comments New ones that caught my eye are The Road Trip, A Net for Small Fishes, and We Are All Birds of Uganda.

Malibu Rising is already on my list.

I rather like the way that the BBC list features author photos and bios. It feels like another way to connect with the books.

If I haven't read anything yet by Matt Haig, where should I start?

Thanks, Theresa. I was about to post that and now I don't have to.

Some interesting ones there and some that I have seen elsewhere which confirms that they may be important reads for this new year.

I like that it is diverse and not just super literary, prize potential focused.

message 32: by Kimber (new)

Kimber (kimberwolf) | 845 comments I definitely want to check out Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. I loved The Martian and liked Artemis. I'm looking forward to checking out this new effort.

~*Kim*~ (greenclovers75) Thanks for the lists. I've added a few to my wish list.

message 37: by Meli (new)

Meli (melihooker) | 4165 comments I will go back through each of these lists later, but I have already pre-ordered A Little Devil in America: Notes in Praise of Black Performance by Hanif Abdurraqib out in March. I love this writer soooo much 😻

Otherwise, I was kinda ignoring 2021 releases because I have GOT TO slow down on buying books until I can get some off the dang tbr. It's a problem 😂🤣 I have some new 2021 releases lined up for book clubs this year but was planning to make them library borrows.

message 38: by Karin (last edited Jan 01, 2021 01:33PM) (new)

Karin | 9233 comments I have one of these already on my want to read shelf, but as usual, most of the ones on my shelf are by authors I have read before (not on this list) and I will probably wait to see what people are saying etc. Plus, I chiefly borrow books from the library and there are usually long waits for books like this. And then there are just so many books I already want to read...
