Sheriff King begins pursuing the possibility that Victor Kruger killed Mary Fox, left town and has communicated with his wife, Jenny. Did you think that was a logical or viable investigative path at the time?

I really didn't think that Victor killed Mary Fox. I also didn't think he had any contact with Jenny since the night of the disappearance. I didn't think Jenny would be able to keep that kind of secret.

I didn't think it was a viable investigative path. I just figured King was grasping at straws.

King knew better. At the time, I thought he was trying to get under Lance’s skin. He never even called Lance to tell him the body wasn’t his father. This further convinced me he had no business being sheriff.

I forgot that the sheriff never contacted Lance about the identity of the body. It just shows he was running the sheriff's office the way he wanted to...not the way it should be run.

No, I never suspected this.

There was a short time that I suspected Victor might be in prison for some other crime or have amnesia, but that was short lived.
