Sharp and Olivia Cruz go to see Joe Martin in Albany without backup. Despite what we know in hindsight, was this too risky a chance to take?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I think it was risky. Sharp should have told Lance or even the police what was going on. Maybe they should have been wearing a tracker. They were just lucky to get out of it alive.

This guy was notorious and dangerous. Sharp did have the sense to text Lance about where he was and what was going on so I know his instincts were screaming at him. Olivia didn’t know how dangerous it could be but Sharp certainly did from the start. He should have forced her to do this differently.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1810 comments I really don't know what was going on in this book with smart characters doing idiotic things. Going to meet a known mobster without backup was stupid and irresponsible. They almost died.

Yeah, Sharp was smart in every story up to this point. This made no sense.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Agreed; this was totally out of character -- even for Olivia, I think.

Yes, I really thought she was too smart for this kind of TSTL move.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I'm with you Lauren. In the previous books Leigh was creating characters with good instincts. In this book, I hardly recognize the characters. I'm a little disappointed. Lance should be the voice of reason instead he acted like Olivia is the more experienced investigator.
