Liz (liz_the_librarian) Welcome to February and congrats on making it through January!

Last week, I finished Bill Nye's Undeniable. (Does anyone else feel like he totally missed out calling the book UndeNYEable?!) I'm a big "Science Guy" fan so this book was right up my alley; the audiobook version where Bill Nye narrates is a must-read for anyone who loved his show. I also finished the late Ned Vizzini's It's Kind of a Funny Story, which was humorous at times but definitely covers topics that aren't very funny: depression, suicide and psychiatric hospitals.

This week, I'm listening to another Wil Wheaton narration: John Scalzi's Agent to the Stars. What would you do if you were asked to prepare humanity for the arrival of friendly aliens? I'm also reading Margaret Atwood's newest collection of short stories Stone Mattress. That woman has a way with words...

What are you reading this week? Would you recommend it to the group?

Undeniable Evolution and the Science of Creation by Bill Nye It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini Agent to the Stars by John Scalzi Stone Mattress Nine Tales by Margaret Atwood

Laura | 1 comments I'm reading Stephen King's 11/22/63. It was slow going at first, but now I can't wait until I have time to get back into it.

I've heard that is an amazing book. Enjoy!

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments Last week, I read The Nightingale Before Christmas by Donna Andrews (great series).
And then yesterday I finished reading To End All Wars: A Story of Loyalty and Rebellion, 1914- 1918 by Adam Hochschild, World War I as seen through the focus on its critics as well as its heroes and leaders.
I'm also listening to The Hobbit. I might listen to The Lord of the Rings next, it's been a while since I read the books.

Julie | 130 comments I've been listening to Moby Dick, and started reading The Glassblower, but I haven't gotten very far into that one yet. I have slacked a little on reading this past week.

Have you read Joe's latest blog post about those movies? (http://infopeake.org/blog/?p=7755). It makes me so sad that that era is over. I'm definitely going to reread The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings at some point this year.

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments I first read The Hobbit in 4th grade, and The Lord of the Rings not long after. LotR was my favorite book, and I reread it at least once a year. Part of me is sad to think there will be no more movies set in Middle Earth, another part is curious to see what Peter Jackson & Co. do next.

Vivian | 54 comments I am reading "Ready Player One" and I want to thank all who read it & spoke so highly of it. I am loving it but am pretty sure it's not something I would have picked up on my own.

Such a good book! The author is publishing his second book this summer, and I'm super excited! Armada

I think you will enjoy it. I had to make myself put the book down at night.

This week I'm reading Once Upon a Grind by Cleo Coyle. I've been enjoying the Coffeehouse Mystery series for the last few years. I am enjoying the current installment, but the chapters seem a bit short.

I think the short chapters make me want to keep reading. I keep saying to myself, "Just one more chapter." I have been enjoying the Coffehouse Mystery Series for a while and I always enjoy being back at the Village Blend.

I just had my 12 year old son start reading it since I liked it so much.

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments I am in the middle of the new Odd Thomas book by Dean Koontz. sad that it is the lasts one. Also finishing 13 Hours in Benghazi. In the car I am listening to Private London by James Patterson. It's been so busy getting ready for a dance competition & also a campout for my son w/ Boy Scouts that I haven't had much time to read lately.
