Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion
Tower Teams 8 - Discworld

Team The Librarian

Folks....
I was super weepy over this book last night. Anyone else reading tear-jerkers?"
I'm hoping I get to read this book for the BOM points - I've got it on hold through Overdrive, but it still says an 8 week wait. Sigh.....

I also began A Deadly Education and it definitely had "Morris dancers" in it. It was around the 19 minute mark (audiobook). Do you need an exact time stamp or the quote or anything?
I'm going away tomorrow to stay with some friends for a few days so I don't think I will get much reading done.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I can get the exact quote from my ebook copy, so don't worry.
Enjoy seeing friends.

I'm more than happy to mail you this book after I'm done with it, if you'd like.

Can I participate in BOM and get us points by reading the books even if I'm not signed up for the DQs??? I've just realized what SandyL's mentioned implies. Omg. :o

Yes, you get 20 points for answering the questions. Anyone who answers the questions and reads the book during the challenge gets the points.
Edited: Sandy is referring to the one month time period in which you have to answer the question.

Thank you for the clarification! Definitely expanding my reading list then. ^^

I read 6 books in May and this is more than my average has been lately. Pretty happy with that.
On to South Africa book and looks like it could be a tear-jerker.

Mexican Gothic could be used as a genre if that is the case.

Polls for July BOM (last month): https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/3...
If you have no idea what to vote for, my reccomendations (as in, I nominated) are Project Hail Mary and Lost in the Never Woods.

I read 3-4 at once. I have different reading moods and often have one more serious and smaller, lighter ones and +/- an audio for walks.

I am going to read Hunted for the fairy tale genre task when I finish my science genre book!

I added the date to the tracking spreadsheet, but your book is missing the read date on Goodreads. Could you add the date of 6/5 when you get a chance?
Thank you!

Adult -

YA -

The YA is a reread for me, and I adore it. Both Judith and Jen read the adult one recently and liked it.

So it won't count (it's been good so far, just other books have gotten in the way).
But I'll definately reread The House in the Cerulean Sea

I read Addie LaRue recently but will try to get The House in the Cerulean Sea.

Jen,
If you remember enough to answer questions you can still participate in the BOM for points since you read the book during this challenge. I’m in the same boat as you with this book.
And I read Cerulean Sea a couple months ago so I’m out completely for that one.
At least I can do the Discworld book.

I read 3 to 4 at a time as well. Usually an audio, and ebook, and physical book. Bumps up to 4 if one is a BOM because I try to keep to the reading schedule.
Also, I hope you enjoy Hunted. I read it a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Though I didn't like her book Sherwood nearly as much.

@Jen I usually have several books on the go at once. Usually somewhere between 4-8. I usually have a fiction physical book and a non-fiction (history mainly) physical book and then an ebook and one or two audiobooks (usually a shorter one and a longer one). I also read manga so I generally have a couple of those on the go too.
I juggle a lot so it takes me longer to finish things, but it also means that no matter what mood I'm in something I am reading will appeal to me. I've got more on the go right now because I'm actually participating BOMs which I haven't done before.
I didn't get almost any reading done over the weekend, but I plan to finish a few books this week including The Midnight Library, Equal Rites and A Deadly Education.

Done with the DQs for The Midnight Library.
Did we need someone to read Mort for the extra credit?

Seconding the YA! I read it recently and it was a lovely read.
I'll have to add the Adult BOM to my stack then. It's been on my TBR list. Ahaha.

There's no limit to the number of people that can read and answer the BOM questions. So if you want to read and participate in the BOM, great!
Just don't feel like you have to do so.

Sorry.
Also, I think Mort works for Best Ending Listopia."
You are correct. It is #365.

*Edit: The Woman in White is on the list and I was planning to read that soon anyway so I will read that for it.

Added :)

I hope everyone has had a good start to the week. I just started a 8-5 job, so reading has been difficult, but I’m trying to find spots to get it done!
Kirby,
Have you read Swans of Fifth Avenue? Sorry I’m on the app and can’t link right now. But that fits the bill I think.

Or The Time Paradox book I am going to read will work for that as the cover is yellow and black.

It kept me completely engaged, and I'm promptly moving to the next in series :)

I've been meaning to read that book. Thank you for the recommendation.

The Diviners would be one I would choose

I could be backup for The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue I am on the waitlist for library but if I get it in time I would be willing to try

Joyce, that would be great. You can write the questions if your book arrives in time and I will if it does not. It really helps with the randomizer if we have at least two people for each BOM.

I haven't checked out the Beartown tv series yet...kind of nervous to do that, has anyone watched it yet?"
I'm afraid to watch it. I love those books. I'm not sure how they'd capture that magic in a TV show.
