June monthly challenge

For June we are having 2 challenges this month, as we recently hit 1000+ members (which is amazing, thank you so much!) The sign ups for the special challenge are open here.

This challenge is going to be team based just like the previous one, however, if you want to sign up individually without a team then you can do that too (instructions are given below)

We are not counting page numbers, reviews and buddy reads this time.

(This is one book one prompt)


Team based participants rules-

If you are signing up for a team, then you will need to complete all the books together and you can log them only after everyone in your team finishes reading them. A team leader will be appointed, just like last time. The goal is to compete as many prompts as possible from the list given below, together. You can complete as many prompts from the list as you want, and you do not have to complete all of them.

The procedure for logging books and the point system will be different for individual participants and team participants, but the prompts will be the same.

Participants can also read as many books as they want from the same list individually, while the team book is going on. If you read an individual book then you will have to follow the individual prompt point system (which is given below)

A team can only read one book at a time.

Team based point system-

+25 for reading each prompt as a team
+50 if you finish all the prompts in one category as a team (for eg all the 10 prompts in the diverse category)
+100 if you complete all 10 prompts in the entire list as a team (which means all the prompts listed here, there are a lot)


Individual participant rules-

To keep it fair, and to make sure that the teams aren’t lagging behind, the point system for the individual points is different.

Individual participants can read as many books as they want from the list. Those who are taking part in a team can also read books from this list separately, simultaneously.

Individual participants point system-

+10 for reading each prompt
+ 25 if you finish all the prompts in one category (for eg all 10 points in the diverse category)
+50 if you complete all the prompts listed here

You can take part in the challenge as a team, as an individual participant, or both.

No, a team needs to read one specific book together. For eg your team has 5 members and you decide on the book Ash Princess. All the members in the team will need to read this book at the same time.

But if you want to do both, then you as an individual can read how many ever books you want from the prompts given. This is a bonus points system in a way.

You can individually finish all the prompts in a list, OR your team can read all the prompts on the list together.

By spoiler tag I mean there will be a blue colour thing called ‘view spoiler’
Once you click on that you should be able to see the prompts.

If you’re on the website you’ll need to click on the tag, but if you’re on the goodreads app, then it will be visible without the tag!
