SciFi and Fantasy Book Club discussion

This has been bugging me fore a while like an itch between the shoulder blades. But I read this book on kindle unlimited and now I cant find it.
It is about a boy who lives in a world that is partially covered in mist. If you venture into the mist you are never seen again except the kid has a medallion that allows him to cross into the other side. Where he find special herbs and stuff to sell. Eventually he travel into the mist to attempt to explore some dungeon and makes a deal with a monster to change his Fate. He trades his fate of great love for power, conquers the dungeon and then get a ride home on a bat monster with an old mans face. I know that is kind of vague but if you know the book could you help me out. Thanks in advance. .

I think i finally found it. Pretty sure it is "The Crafter - legacy -
I don't remember it being a YA novel, RPG or it having a duel story line. But I remember it being pretty good. Unfortunately it is no longer on K unlimited.|
