Veronica is back! And we have good news about TorCon, lots of new book recommendations from iO9, thoughts on the phrase "Asian Fantasy" and our kick-off of the June book pick, Piranesi by Susannah Clarke.

Good to see Veronica back. The guests were all great, but they're not Veronica.

Welcome Back.

Trike | 11204 comments Welcome back, Supreme Sword Queen!

You have my axe.

…body spray. Can I have that back? Hot date with an ogre tonight.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 2898 comments Veronica shouldn't be so hard on herself. I know she read *at least* one of the S&L picks while she was away - The House in the Cerulean Sea. A book which, by the way, has come under a lot of fire from indigenous readers because of something the author said earlier this week. Phew!

Joseph | 2433 comments I’m just imagining Veronica shouting into one of those teddy bears that has a baby monitor built into it.

Also (now that I'm back home at a keyboard): If you can't get into Strange & Norrell the book, I'd say the BBC series is worth checking out as a way to get the highlights of the story.

And very glad you're back!

terpkristin | 4407 comments I've only just started listening and while I've definitely enjoyed the guest hosts, it feels good to have the team back together again. Welcome back, Veronica, and so far it's a good show (this entire no commute to work thing means my listening time is sooo much reduced).

I was intrigued by this and had to dig out the story behind it: https://www.reddit.com/r/romancelandi...

Interestingly, the comments from Klune were made over a year ago on John Scalzi’s ‘Whatever’ blog but have only recently been more broadly discussed. Here’s the original post: https://whatever.scalzi.com/2020/03/1...

Renee | 13 comments I listened to this podcast on a recent work trip, and I'm excited to check out the io9 list. I also had never considered listening to Piranesi as an audio book, but now I'm kinda intrigued since Veronica said it was so good.
