This is my first time posting here so apologies if I mess something up.
Dystopian. Possibly children's or Christian book. Came out before 2014 (When the book was read to me in school).
Could be in the future or present. Kids or teenagers are born without names and instead are identified by numbers or codes. These kids live in an authoritarian/martial law world, probably in North America. I don't remember there being many adults in the book and I got the impression they're the bad guys controlling these kids.
A small group of kids manage to escape and have given each other names. I don't remember the names.
They have to avoid being caught and have a few close calls.
Spoilers I guess:
Near the end, I believe they manage to reach this warehouse filled with potatoes with the help of this older kid named Michael. This is the only specific detail I remember.

It's a long shot but hopefully someone knows it.
