Janeylou | 974 comments Are there only 4 people on a team , and these 4 people read 1 bk each and when ALL 4 have finished, then we get another call ?

"Buddy Reads will DOUBLE your points.
BOTM will TRIPLE your points."

Do these have to coincide with the tasks or are they in addition to tasks

At the moment, I don't really know how many people will be on a team. That will depend on how many people sign up to participate. But when teams are formed, and you get your first 3 characters to read for you will need 4 tasks to be completed for 1 character before receiving a new one.

You don't necessarily need to have 4 people read a book to knock out 4 different tasks for a character. One person could read 4 books to knock out the four tasks for a character. It's just up to how you all want to do it.

Oops forgot to mention the points for buddy reads and BOTM. They aren't a task for any challenge. You just get more points if you participate in any buddy reads throughout the challenge within this group. Same goes for the BOTM books we do.

1. I committed for six books but it's not necessary to read all books for round first I can read for next round also ???

2. Is this necessary to write review also ???"

So for the 6 books, you can read those throughout the month. It wont matter if you go over or under those 6 books either. As for the rounds, there aren't really rounds in the challenge but I made the tabs say rounds because if your team gets a character that you already completed then you would just add your information on the second round tab.

Usually I would just copy and paste the entire thing on one tab and it was never ending. So I just wanted a cleaner looks this time around. Sorry for any confusion on that!

As for reviews, yes we do require one but there's no length requirement. You can just talk about what you liked or dislike. If you don't want to write a review, we do allow 5 book status updates instead.

Review + updates? Wow! Yes, that will work and you don't have to write anything longer.

Anyone can read the same book as someone else on the team and then use those books to knock out characters/tasks. You, personally, just can't post your book twice for different tasks.

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments If 4 tasks knocks out one category, do we still need to complete the other categories or not bother and try to move books to another spot that weren't finished/used yet?

Does that make sense? LOL

So each character has 8 tasks. When you first get a character, you need to only complete 4 out of the 8. Then when you get the character again, you will need to complete the remaining 4 tasks.

It wont give you the points you are looking for but I will on my spreadsheet. I need to remember to create something for BOTM books/points.

For tasks with letters in title, that can include the subtitle and any edition of that book. It doesn't work for series titles since we have tasks that are specific to letters in that as well. Any edition works for that task as well.

Should I use the page count of searching the book in Spanish (856 pages) in the search function or the most rated one which is an English version (566 pages). Thank you!

From reading the rules, I think it is the most rated edition (sorry I didn't see it earlier). Going for 566!

If you read over 100 pages in August for your books, I will allow them to go towards a character. If you read less than 100 pages then you would count the pages read for page points only.

Question regarding a buddy read (not specifically about this challenge, but the book would be used in it so I'll ask here).

If there is a buddy read set up for a book, do I specifically have to find a buddy to participate? Or can I just jump in since the book is already going to be buddy read?

I was asking regarding the below BR as I planned to pick it up this book this weekend and saw there was a buddy read starting tomorrow.

If people are already planning on reading a book, and you want to read it as well, you are more than welcome to jump into that buddy read with them. You do not have to find another person to read with.

If you are reading a book that combines two stories into one big book, then I would only count it for one task on the spreadsheet. If you reading the books separately, instead of the book that combines them together, then both could be counted - does that help?
