Description: Xcor, leader of the Band of Bastards, convicted of treason against the Blind King, is facing a brutal interrogation and torturous death at the hands of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I haven't read any spinoffs but want too. I picked up some of the cd audiobooks my Library had of some

I started last night. Nothing much yet to discuss. The first few chapters seem to be a refresher...Which I desperately needed, lol. It's been 3 years since I read the last one and honestly I don't remember much about it or the Shadows book, which his surprising because I love the Shadows!

I do kind of feel bad for Layla. Qhuinn is just being an asshole now. Threatening to kill her?

What in the actual hell is wrong with Qhuinn??

I'm about halfway through. I want to punch Qhuinn. And what is Thor's problem? Why does he want Xcor dead so bad that he'd go against Wrath?

And Selena coming back (or not Selena, lol)? That's weird.

Qhuinn showed his a$$ in this one big time. Their has always wanted power back that his family took from him. He thought Xcor and the bastards would do his bidding to make that happen. It didn't..so now he is trying on his own.

I think their story is a short

So it started slow but I got into it finally. Honestly I had to Google a bunch of names to refresh my memory about who some of the people were, lol.

I'm glad Blay stuck to it and didn't just forgive Qhuinn right away. He made him work for it, lol. I do think the end was wrapped up a little too quickly, but oh well.

I absolutely love Lassiter. He's always been one of my favorites I heard he's getting his own book. Kind of excited for that one.

Oh yeah...and I'm kind of disappointed in V. He's always been one of my favorites.

I have a couple of books to read before starting The Thief, but hopefully I'll be able to get to it next week. It is about Assail and more Throe, I think, both of which I could do without...but I'll stick with it just to get to Lassiter's book, lol.

So I've tried picking this up a couple of times, but just can't get into it right now. I think it's because I hate Throe and don't want to read about him, and I hate Assail and don't want to read about him, lol. I have it for 3 weeks from the library, so I'll keep trying. Maybe I will just need to skip this one and go on to the next one.

Lol I tried it years ago and didn't like it. I did pick it back up this time and found it enjoyable but I too had issues with throe. I now do like Assail. But by all means skip it if you need to.

Thanks, I’m going to give this one more try. The only reason I kind of want to keep reading is to see what happens with the V. But because I was struggling I went through and read a bunch of reviews, so I kind of know what’s going to happen.

Yes that's what kept me reading it too. It does get better and you do get more invested.

I figured it out...I'm going to skip over all of Throe's parts. I'll try Assail and Sola (I do like her) to see if I like him any better, but maybe just read V's parts :)
