I've noticed quite a few books having their subtitle included in the title displayed in GR listings. It makes links a bit long, but is potentially helpful. For example, The Poetry of Solitude: A Tribute to Edward Hopper is a far more specific collection than the title alone suggests. With Watching the English: The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour, the subtitle arguably doesn't add much, but it is legitimately the subtitle of the book.

However, I just noticed a book that was previously, correctly, listed as just "Life Sentences" now has publisher's promo blurb (that isn't even on the front cover) included as if it were part of the title, Life Sentences: the unforgettable Irish bestseller. The book IS unforgettable, is Irish, and has sold very well, but none of that belongs in the title. If this sort of edit becomes the norm, listings will be reduced to adverts, rather than being a proper catalogue.

Related to this, more and more of the book descriptions are starting with such sales fluff, rather the actual description. Please stop.

The books are auto-imported by bots. The sales tags aren't added deliberately by us and librarians fix them when we come across them.

If you find more, please post in Book Issues and a librarian will fix them.
