Does anyone have any good suggestions for ya books that you aren’t really living if you haven’t read them?

I'd definitely say the Fault in our Stars by John Green, or Heartless by Marissa Meyer

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon is a must read too

Before I fall by Lauren Oliver and The Twin by Natasha Preston

A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole is a YA book that will make you sob. It's slightly cheesy, but it was genuinely so sad. If you've ever watch Your Lie in April it has similar vibes!!

Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

Normal people by sally rooney

Far From the Tree by Robin Benway, Midnight At the Electric by Jodi Lynn Anderson, and All of This is True by Lygia Day-Peñaflor are some favorite standalone of mine!

I'd love to hear some fantasy or sci-fi standalone recs too!

Sorcery of Thorns is a great fantasy standalone

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven is so so great. And if you like mysterious YA, I will recommend Sadie

The Book Thief! (I’m not a historical fiction kind of person but this one is an absolute masterpiece!) also, Anna and the French Kiss( a cute romance if your into that), this next one isn’t a stand-alone but it’s a small duology and I read both in one sitting so it feels like a stand-alone lol, The Daughter of the Pirate King, Royals (another cute romance but with Princess Diaries vibes) We we’re Liars (if your into mystery), literally any Sarah Dessen book for more teen romance, and again another duology, Star he the Dreamer if your into fantasy and adventure books

I would recommend any book by Laurie Halse Anderson such as Wintergirls, Speak, and The Impossible Knife of Memory. I would also recommend Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. Also, Fangirl and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. Or The Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young.
