Glede Kabongo | 32 comments I just had the cover of my novel Swan Deception redesigned but the system won't allow me to load the new cover. It said something about "The Librarian" is the one who can delete covers (meaning the old one). Does anyone have experience with this?

Ken (kendoyle) | 347 comments I did this recently, following these instructions. You can't delete a cover; you have to create a new edition and then combine them:

Or, you can post in the GR Librarians group and ask someone to do it for you.

Don't forget that you as the author get to set which cover/edition is featured/primary/default ( what shows in search results, author page, etc.). If you do not set, goodreads uses the most popular edition. Librarians actually cannot set a default, only the author.

Directions on how to set (plus the answer to the original post) are actually in the author FAQs (see https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ).

Almost every book specific issue can be handled over in the librarians group rather than the site and author feedback groups. (Sometimes a librarian might read a post here but usually at least hundreds see within 15 minutes in librarians group).
