I really liked The Crossing Places- and it was another new author find for me.
I'm still waiting for The Man who died Twice. Had it on hold since it was published.

I am reading another Elly Griffiths book now. She is a likeable new author for me too.

I also thought the Garnethill books were excellent and Deception was very good. I have not tried any of the Alex Morrow books yet.
I do want to read more books by David Joy but don't want to overload on dark and bleak now since the weather is changing.
Totally agree that The Man Who Died Twice was delightful.

Very Good books:
One of these was lighter, the Osman book, the first three were downright bleak, but very, very good. I have been devouring the Amy Stewart books.
The City Where We Once Lived by Eric Barnes
Where All Light Tends to Go by David Joy
Pale Horse, Pale Rider: Three Short Novels by Katherine Anne Porter
The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman simply delightful!
Dear Miss Kopp by Amy Stewart
Good Books:
I will read more by all three of these authors (if Scott Blackburn writes another, his debut has promise) He was described as being like S.A. Cosby, the experiences of the character are similar, the writing is different.
56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard
The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths
It Dies with You by Scott Blackburn this one is a 2022 release I read from NetGalley
Ok Books:
Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh the second book by this author I tried, I didn't finish the first. Not sure I will try now.
Still Midnight by Denise Mina just because you like later works doesn't mean an older series will resonate
