Terris | 4390 comments Matt, I know you have been planning since July, but this is a quick plan post, even for you!!! I'm impressed ;)

Thanks Terris! I’ve been tweaking the A-Z author list quite a bit. I..."

Yes, that's a good book. I think you'll enjoy it!

Plan? What plan?! Haha! Enjoy your reading in 2022 -- and, somehow, I don't think that will be difficult for you ;)

message 3: by Terris (new)

Terris | 4390 comments P.S. If you decide you need a "Z" classic author, Zola is pretty good. I recommend Thérèse Raquin. That story really stuck with me.

message 4: by Luke (new)

Luke (korrick) Wow Matt, and I thought I had been plotting in earnest. Just let me get to the point of today where I can properly get on the computer, and I'll be able to follow along.

Leni Iversen (leniverse) | 1285 comments That's an ambitious reading plan! I'm especially intimidated by your A-Z.

Ila | 710 comments This looks beautiful. Wuthering Heights, Chess story, O Henry's stories, To kill a mockingbird...so many of my favourites. I also liked your focus on history in the fiction and nonfiction challenge. All the best!

I thought I had commented earlier, but I think you were in the process of posting. Anyway, good luck next year, Matt. You have some great choices on the list and some I will be happy to see your reaction so I can determine if they belong on my own TBR.

Kathleen | 5466 comments I love your enthusiasm, Matt! We have some good ones coming up, don't we? See you in the threads. :-)

Sue K H (sky_bluez) | 3694 comments Great challenges Matt. You almost make me want to do the A-Z since I've heard of all but one of the authors.

I love your Old and New challenge and your Fiction/nonfiction categories. Have fun!

I know what you mean. I'm sneaking in some mysteries and giving the challenges a little break.

Maybe it is the Spring affecting us all, because I am also breaking from the planned reading to just enjoy some things that have appeal instead. Lots of year ahead. Enjoy, Matt.

I have also been reading a series, definitely not a classic, but that is OK. I am on Book #10 in just one month. It is silly chick lit formulaic romance. Sometimes you just need a break.

I see that you finished a Dickens and a Dostoyevski. That is a LOT of reading.

message 13: by Terris (new)

Terris | 4390 comments I'm right there with all of you. I am slowing down on my Classics in favor or more best sellers and feel-good reads. Maybe it's the time of year, but I guess I'm just needing a break from the heavier reading. Happy Spring!! :)

Two great novels for the A-Z! This time of year seems to slow all of us down a little, but those are substantial reads.

Yay, Matt! Two good ones! I think "Light in August" is the only Faulkner that I've enjoyed so far!! Oh, I did like "The Reivers" too -- but I didn't like his most popular ones! :/
