I almost bought The parasite a couple of months ago then didn't. How is it?

Char | 17459 comments I set aside Such a Pretty Smile Such a Pretty Smile by Kristi DeMeester -it just wasn't working for me right now. It could be the elderly character dying of dementia. I just went through that with my mom, and I can't deal with reading about it at this time.

Soooo, I'm starting one of our group reads The Restoration by J.H. Moncrieff .

Smile No More by James A. Moore This is really good. I think it's a shame that James Moore doesn't get more attention for his books. Many of the them are so worth the read.

That's so sad. Seems like several authors I like have been having health problems.

The Exorcist's House
The Exorcist's House by Nick Roberts

This psychological thriller follows a family to their Appalachian farmhouse, where they encounter an unimaginable horror.

In the summer of 1994, psychologist Daniel Hill buys a rustic farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills of West Virginia.

Along with his wife and teenage daughter, the family uproots their lives in Ohio and moves south. They are initially seduced by the natural beauty of the country setting. That soon changes when they discover a hidden room in the basement with a well, boarded shut and adorned with crucifixes.

Local legends about the previous owner being an exorcist come to light, but by then, all Hell has broken loose.

This 1990s horror novel is perfect for fans of family thriller books, stories of demonic possession, exorcism fiction, the occult, or thrillers like The Exorcist, A Head Full of Ghosts, and The Amityville Horror.

Two Envelopes And A Phone Starting Come Closer by Sara Gran and Saga of the Swamp Thing Book Three by Alan Moore tomorrow morning.

Seriously considering DNFing this one. While this collection does include the classic “Events at Poroth Farm,” the rest of these stories—what I’ve read so far, anyway—range from uninspired to downright bad. In a way it reminds me of Ramsey Campbell’s Inconsequential Tales, a similar collection of early works and leftover stories that weren’t good enough for any of his regular collections. But Campbell’s title, at least, indicated the slight nature of most of the works in the book. Perhaps if Klein had given this a more honest title I’d be feeling less negative about it. “Buyer Beware,” maybe?
