Okay that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, because I re-read this Of Human Bondage last year and it is one of my favorite books of all time.
It's difficult to pinpoint exactly why this one speaks to me the way it does, but if I was only allowed one book in 2021, I could not do better than to pick this classic.

But I would pick The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz by Erik Larson.
It was a fantastic read.. well.. listen with a great narrator. :)
It had me at the edge of my seat and I felt like listening to a chain of events happening right now and not more than 70 years ago.
This year, I am intending to read In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin by him. I already purchased both the audiobook in English and the paperback version in Hungarian.
