I guess it's official, I am not much of a tome toppler. Surely I can get through one of these doorstops this year, though. Mao: The Unknown Story, perhaps?

I listened to Seveneves. A LOT of it went way over my head, but one thing I really enjoy about Neal Stephenson's writing style is that he doesn't make me feel stupid for, uh, being stupid. Especially in audiobook format, it lets my brain just kinda gloss over the mathy bits and gives me plenty of shiny bits to chew on.
