Play Book Tag discussion

I have read and enjoyed previous books by Lisa See, so I was interested to read her debut book. It was very different in style to the historical fiction I have come to associate with her, but it was a very enjoyable read nevertheless. In this book an American lawyer and a Chinese police officer combine forces to work together to investigate a number of disturbing murders that link Chinese gangs, big business and both Chinese and American politicians. The story has lots of twists and turns and it also gives an insight into the history of China and Chinese customs. I didn’t work out who was behind the murders until just before the reveal, and I really liked the setting and characters, so I am looking forward to continuing this series in the future.
