Lots of GN - some are horror related. The Roberts by Justin Shady is good - the Boston Strangler and the Zodiac Killer are living in the same retirement home and decide to have a 'contest' - pretty horrific!

Hey, howdy, hey!

I don't like putting my name in public social media places, but if you message me I'll be happy to sign my reply with my real name. :) I am a doctoral student in mass communication and media arts, with specializations in horror studies, film and television criticism, and film-geography. I've written six book chapters, linked in my bookshelves, should you be interested.

I read horror, thriller, and dark academia–not quite exclusively, but close enough. I like a bit of sci-fi, paranormal romance, and I've enjoyed fantasy in the past, although I've kinda started straying away for some reason.

I work full time in book publishing (at a university press)... and when I'm not working, researching, or reading.... I'm probably playing tennis, watching horror movies, or collecting Rae Dunn ceramics. ;P

Oh, yeah, and I'm a total crazy cat lady.

First of all thank you Sally for the kind invitation :) This group really looks like a lot of fun!

I'm very much into everything creepy, books and movies...horror of all kinds, true crime, dark fantasy and so on. Unfortunately I couldn't get much to reading in the last month (and wasn't very active at GR, sorry for that!)...I'm still into Echo by Thomas Olde Heuvelt (which I really love so far to give a quick update here too ;)) with a speed of about 20 pages in three days. Ouch! But I hope I will pick up speed again since I planned to read and pre-ordered so many books this year which are now waiting to be cracked open.
I'm seriously drawn to Italian Giallo cinema, so one book that already arrived and looks at me every day is Five Deaths for Seven Songbirds by John Everson...can't wait for that one :)

Hi Jason. I am totally there with you on the book buying problem. It's a real thing but I feel like there are worse things we could be addicted to right? Never be ashamed for buying books, it is our passion and we will not be denied!

As a whole, HEX creeped me out more than Echo, but Echo has a creepier singular moment than HEX. ... If that makes sense.

I generally love poetry, although I may love, love poetry the most, I read everything. I also write poetry and science fiction because it entertains and relaxes me. But I am also a fan of science fiction and fantasy of all genres
