I don't have any series that are that long. My longest is Mercy Thompson, which currently has 8 books. Not sure I'll be able to finish the series section.

Unless I can find a book 9 and 10 to a series that you don't need to read them in order???

Kristie | 3595 comments Finished Necessary Lies Necessary Lies by Diane Chamberlain and Fuzzy Nation Fuzzy Nation by John Scalzi . Really enjoyed both of them.

I'm currently listening to A Man Called Ove A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman and it's ok. I think I expected a lot more out of the book and I'm not loving it like I hoped to.

Planned audios for June:
Finish A Man Called Ove
Silver Borne
The Color Purple
Redshirts
Lock In
Murder on the Orient Express
Finders Keepers starting the end of the month for a buddy read :)

And maybe:
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or
We Have Always Lived in the Castle

I have set my goal pretty high this time. Let's see how I do!

message 66: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments Ok... I have a question about the foreign book. I am listening to Night by Elie Wiesel. The book is translated into English. Is that what we are going for? I don't have to actually listen to it in a different language, correct? My version is narrated by George Guidall. I have no idea what his first language was, but the author's first language would not have been English.

For Asia, A tale for the time being by Ruth Ozeki worked well on audio, but it is not an easy book. Depends if you have an interest in it
I thought The Orphan Masters Son was amazing and the audio was pretty good.

I have loads of Aus ones I can recommend, but I'll keep thinking about what I've read set in Asia on audio for you

Kristie | 3595 comments Way to go! Do you have favorites? I have Dracula, My Man Jeeves, and Night Music in my Audible collection, but haven't listened to any of them yet.

Book to movie - I'm hoping to read The Danish Girl this year. I don't know how it is on audio, but I have high expectations.

Dracula was awesome on audio and I've found all Jojo Moyes books are great on audio too, so I highly recommend them!
My man Jeeves wasn't bad, but I found it could get a bit grating at times.

I just realised I could use seven years I Tibet as book to movie and then find another foreign book... Hmmm...

In it sure I have a favourite, but all the Phyrne Fisher books are great on audio : Stephanie Daniel is a superb narrator. And all the Jojo Moyes books too
