I recently finished The Black Tides of Heaven which has a map in it. I am currently reading Super Powereds: Year 1 which has 800+ pages, I expect to finish it by Friday.

If the exact words bull-headed (or bullhead) are in the text we can use it.

You would think you had more time for reading and sitting one the computer in the summer time, but nope!

I've updated the spreedsheet with what i've read in my abscene, and I've read through all the messeges here.

I just finished Super Powereds: Year 1. It has 814 pages and it also had "hard headed" in the text

Stymphalian Birds



Stymphalian Birds have been seen filling your orchards and causing delays in harvesting. They are hard to defeat because of their numbers. Music can soothe the savage beasts, may want to try metal bands.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 350 and 450 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book that is #6 in a series.
3.) Read a book with a musical instrument mentioned in the text.
4.) Read a book with something metal on the cover.
5.) Read a book that features a bird (bird shifter accepted).

All we need for this one is a 6th in series!

I should be done with a #6 in a series today :)

Quick question. The Gandhi autobiography has some parts that are set in Africa. A little over 2/3ds of the book are spent describing his work in Johannesburg and other towns in South Africa.
Would it work for the Africa task?

4.) Author name (first and last) contain all the letters in HERA
5.) Read a book where a MC is a mother Already completed stuff for all of these!

Cretan Bull



The Cretan Bull has been spotted running amok across your lands destroying defensive walls and crops alike. He is hard to defeat and really should of been sacrificed as the gods intended. Also, not opposed to participating in some marriage infidelity. So there may be some surprises popping out 9 months from now.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 350 and 450 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book with a white cover.
3.) Read a book where something physical is destroyed (e.g., building burning down and not a relationship being ruined).
4.) Read a book where the MC ignores important advice.
5.) Read a book with a 7 in the page count.

I need to go through the monster list as some have been finally defeated and some new ones have been found so our all monsters task list is out of date.

If you know something you’ve finished recently works for these please say - especially tasks 3 and 4

I don't think we've used it yet but I'm not sure if it's down for something else but Razorblade Tears would definitely work for something is physically destroyed as tons of stuff gets wrecked in that book (a house burns down, a car gets smashed up, some things get blown up or shot up - it's all v violent). Not sure if it counts but someone also leaves hospital against medical advice.

Failing that I'm just about finished Carrie Soto is back. She ignores advice from her coach/dad/everyone and I think a couple of tennis rackets get wrecked, although I'd need to check

Razorblade tears can be used here and then we'd need a book with a funeral service/celebration.


I'll search for a white cover then can turn this one in.

I have something with a musical instrument on the cover but it's a long one and I need to finish another book first so not sure I'd get it finished in time

I've got one as well, but I've got 2 to finish and 1 to read for Trojan warships, so similarly I don't think I'd get to it in time.

I'm currently reading my book for three of the five Polyphemus' (Cyclops) tasks. It would be great if someone read or is reading a book where the MC is a farmer in order to finish that monster.

I've been wracking my brains for a book with an MC who's a farmer but struggling to come up with anything. May need to scout some other team's spreadsheets to see what they used.

Fyi, as the Monster mini challenge ends on July 15th, my Cyclops book will officially be my last book for this mini. Unfortunately just like Alison and Sophie I won't be able to read a book with an instrument on the cover in time.
