COMPLETION POST:
The mods are going to be needing this from every participant for every book they finish for us to be able to track everything better. Only books that have a completion post will be considered for scoring points. Here is the template:
Title:
Author:
Start Date:
Finish Date:
Category and task: (only one task per book read)
Graphic Novel? (Yes or no)
Buddy Read? (Yes or no)
Group Read? (Yes or no)
Pages: (if a graphic novel, please post original and halved numbers)
Review: [link of your review]
Please ensure you include the category and task number. It really helps us when we input into our master spreadsheet <3

As for planning.... the big points are made with the buddy reads and group reads so perhaps coordinating some additional buddy reads if possible.
Some teams can be pretty good at coordinating reads to complete categories which also gives extra bonus points. Awesome if it happens but any read that fits is most welcome!
Do you have any books that you absolutely plan to read?

Below is my list. Prompts in italics are ones that I am definitely going to read within May/June and those with * are those that are a group/buddy read already. The others are what I have on my annual TBR that could work but are subject to change. I am moving the beginning half of May so may be a bit slow during that time, but will hopefully get back into a groove later in the month and for all of June.

It looks like it'll be a big buddy read for Spanish Love Deception, which is also great because we'll get points for that too 😄
For Group Read books there'll be only two options because the voting is mostly done. Those books are:

@Jen K
June will work for me but I'm not sure if I will be able to do both The Tenant of Wildfell Hall & Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil in the same month. Was there one over the other you would prefer and as it gets closer to June I can let you know if we can do all 3? I will definitely be able to do one of them and Know My Name.

I also have a post that shows which prompts people have already planned for. It looks like there is only one that no one has options for yet - read a book with "bone" in title or on cover! We should be able to easily complete most of the categories for those extra points!

@Je..."
Cool! I have no preference.
It is helpful to see it laid out like that, thanks!
Edited: After shifting some books around, I will try to read either The Bone Orchard or Nettle & Bone in May.

I don't want to copy and paste my tackle your tbr post so if you are interested in what I will be reading just look at my master post there Ig.
@Brianna Great work! 😄 This will help us in the beginning, and maybe to see with what category to start, although from experience I know if you have BRs that can mess with that plan.
I'm going to add a new sheet to our team spreadsheet for the books that we are planning to read, that are BRs because later on, when we post more messages and completion posts your posts will stay on the first page, and it gets a bit annoying when you have to switch pages (or maybe that's just me 😅) But later, after maybe 3-4 weeks we could make updates of books we need to finish a category.

I added that one sheet where we can input our books and if they are BRs. And if you see someone reading something that you want to read too just write your name in the cell next to the book name.

No worries, ask anything that interests you. The link to the sheet is in the first message Laurel posted with the tasks, it's literally the last thing in the message. If you can't find it let me know to post the link again.

I figured it out!! I guess I can’t use my phone. I didn’t see half the important messages and links on it haha

@Asia
yeah.. I heard that can be a problem with phone users, but since I 99% use my laptop I didn't have those problems 😅
@Jen Thanks :D I'm making another sheet for me, and anyone that wants to use it, to see when BRs start and end.. that way, hopefully, I won't get too overwhelmed with reading since I'm still feeling slumpy-ish.

I'm dorky enough that just filling the book into a spreadsheet as completed is enough motivation.... Also finishing up a quarterly challenge in May but should be freer with my book choices in June.

If so when? it seems loads of people are reading it and i wanted to know when to fit it into my schedule thanks :)
@Jen The feeling you get when you finish a book and check it is the reason I added a check box for it 😂
Also, when do you want to do the BRs we have? because I just saw the one you added in the sheet

@Mina, checking a box is so satisfying!!
On the BRs, later....? Second half of May/ June? My only BRs now are first half of May so I'm pretty open to anytime after they finish.

I'm so happy so see you all talking and coordinating plans! You are all off to a great start. I do have a couple of notes/best practices before we kick off.
1. To see everything in the thread, use your internet browser not the app. The phone app cuts off comments.
2. Aless has set up discord channels for each team for your use. If you're not a discord fan, I recommend creating an Instagram chat group with all of your teammates for faster communication.
https://discord.com/invite/3hBXPyt2Fa
3. Buddy and Group Reads:
Like last year, we are expecting participation beyond "the book was good" for Buddy and Group reads to count. Mina puts a lot of time into creating the threads.
With that being said, anyone can participate in an open Buddy Read without being added as a participant. If there is no meaningful participation, it will not count.
If your buddy is not participating, that's okay, it happens. Continue to comment in the Buddy Read thread. We will count it for the participating member.
Lastly, I'm so happy that you all are requesting BRs to be made—but please don't expect them to be instantaneous. Please allow up to three days for the threads to be created.
If you have any questions, please continue to address them in the Sign Up thread—it's easier for us to catch that way.
Thank you all for joining us for Spring Fling—I hope you all have a lot of fun!

House of Earth and Blood
@Asia - I saw it was on your possible to read list. It looks like it is officially a buddy read for the 12th-19th.
The Atlas Six
@Mina, Anna, and Asia - this is on all of the possible to read lists. Not sure if y'all want to read it for a buddy read or not.
From my understanding of the spreadsheet these will be set up as buddy reads:
Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come: An Introvert's Year of Living Dangerously (mina & Jen K)
The Accidental Beauty Queen (mina & Jen K)
Empire of Storms (June BR)
It Happened One Summer (mina & Jen K)
Know My Name (June BR)
True Biz (Jen K & Asia)
Basically if you see a book someone added and you are interested in reading it you put your name in the BR column and color it for the other person to see it, and from there on you plan.
I think I'll be okay reading Atlas Six as a BR.. but it's too early for me to plan it, so maybe next month or towards the end of May.

RULES
✧ Books must be read and reviewed during May 1st through June 30th. Any books or audiobooks started before May 1st or finished after June 30th will not count.
✧ If you read an Audiobook version of a book convert the hours to pages using this site: https://alamantus.itch.io/time-to-page or use the print equivalent on Goodreads.
✧ Graphic/Manga novels are accepted but will only count for half of the listed page count
✧ You must post at least 3 status updates OR a review. It doesn't have to be super detailed but try to not just say "this was good" for the book to count.
✧ For prompts: if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit, and it will not count.
✧ Minimum Lengths:
• Books: 150 pages
• Graphic Novels: 200 pages (halved=100 pages)
• Audiobooks: 150 pages (use GR print equivalent length)
