Yes, Elvish! "Mae govannen" simply means "well met". If you remember the scene between Legolas and Haldir in FotR, I think Haldir says, "Mae govannen, Legolas Thranduilion," which just means, "Well met, Legolas son of Thranduil".
And "mellon nin" is "my friend". "Mellon" is the Sindarin word for friend (remember that from the Gates of Moria?), and "nin" is just a possessive. I hope that helps!! :D

I LOVE LORD OF THE RINGS
Which movie is your favorite? I personally like Return of the King best but still love them all.
I still need to read the books (I know, I know) but definitely hope to get to them soon 😀

The Return of the King is definitely the most epic! I think it grossed the most money and won the most Oscars, too!

By the way, would you guys choose to live in Gondor or Rohan if you were a human in Middle-earth? Or maybe even Esgaroth or Dale?

Alaarië! (Good afternoon!)
Alaarië! (Good afternoon!)

I would live in Rohan because Gondor is too stiff looking. I don't really like all the stone😂
Rohan! (b/c it's the city of the Horse Lords, and I love horses. Also I don't really know how any of the other kingdoms look....I just know about Rohan b/c it's in a really cool book i have with a lot of conceptual art from the movies!)

Sounds cool!
Whats the title of the book?
A Middle-Earth Traveller: Sketches from Bag End to Mordor
by John Howe.
(I love it even if it was - slightly - an impulse buy!)

Oh, I've seen that around! I know Edoras was modeled after medieval mead-halls in Tolkien's mind, if that helps at all.

How could I forget about him!?!

Honestly, Sydney, you won't like what they did to them in the movies! I was so scandalized when I read the books and found that Faramir was actually super sweet and never even tempted by the Ring (the movies made him a bit of an idiot at times).

oh no! i hope i don't get mad/annoyed at him! (i do that to movie characters sometimes.)

Oh goodness. If you read it, I think you'd know what happened to Hurin, right?

Ohh, got it! Well, The Children of Hurin actually doesn't say. Heh. You're going to have to read The Silm after ;)

I guess that means I have to go into storage and try to find it! lol

CoH is pretty sad right? I will definitely be reading it sometime this year and I'm all up for tragic literature🙌🏻😂

Oh no! He looks snobbish! I love him!! (actually I love any Elf XD) First Faramir, then Haldir, (gulp) who's next?
