Christina Hagenauer | 102 comments Hello,

Could you please correct the page count of this book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

It says 551 pages but actually has 576 pages

(here is the link to amazon: https://smile.amazon.de/Adventures-Sh...).

Thank you!
Best regards,
Christina

Christina Hagenauer | 102 comments Hello,

Could somebody have a look at this, please?

Thanks

annob [on hiatus] (annob) | 4048 comments Hi, the current 551pp info appears to have come from a user with the book in hand. That would trump page number data from a retailer website. If you have the book, please let us know what type of content you have on pages 552-576.

Please also include the ISBN of your book, to ensure we discuss the same edition.

Christina Hagenauer | 102 comments Hi,
sorry, the ISBN is 0241347785 (ISBN13: 9780241347782)
The book starts with an Introduction, Further Reading and Chronology which are at the beginning of the book and are numberd in roman numbers. The last page in the book actually does say 551 but the additional content is at the beginning, since the book starts at "1" after 25 pages numberd i-xxv.
Thank you.

annob [on hiatus] (annob) | 4048 comments Hello again, many thanks for the ISBN as well as the additional content description.

As Goodreads exclude "Introductory material pages using roman numerals" from their page count, 551pp is accurate.

Christina Hagenauer | 102 comments Why would you exclude that? It does not make much sense. It is part of the book's content after all.
I get that you exclude ads for other books or other stuff that is clearly not part of the book, but intros and infos about an author are absolutly part of the book.

annob [on hiatus] (annob) | 4048 comments You misunderstand my role. We volunteer librarians don't make the rules, only follow them. What to include and not to include is decided in Goodreads' policy, which you can read here:

Christina Hagenauer | 102 comments You are right & I am sorry for taking it out on you.
Thank you for the link!
