I loved this, which is surprising because I don't really enjoy gritty, hard-boiled crime with anger & violence constantly simmering under the surface. The harshness of the environment is reflected in the characters. This is a really well-written debut novel.

I actually read this novel as part of Ben;s book club through the Libby app. It was a pleasure to hear Frank Chalmers discuss his novel. I also loved this one. I thought he did a great job of conveying what it means to live in outback Australia. I really hope we get a book 2.
