I think this happens when someone adds an "alternative cover edition" as I've had it happen myself (and why I never use that feature as a GR librarian). If you have it showing twice you should be able to delete one of them and leave the other. Otherwise just edit the dates read.

https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...

I was searching for an author (using the "add book/author" function at the top of comment boxes) and found that the identifying number/link for this author is wrong if you don't use a period after her middle initial and gives you and error page when you link to it.
The author is Susan M. Love.
1) The link that the "add book/author" function provides if you USE the period after her middle initial is correct: Susan M. Love.
2) If you OMIT the period on her middle initial (which I have to think most people do when using middle initials in this search) the link provided is Susan M Love — which gives you an error page.
Is there a way to forward/connect the bad link to the intended link?
Thanks!

I can only edit book pages, this seems like a bug in Goodreads' search functionality. If Susan without a period existed, I could edit her books to match Susan with a period, but the error makes me think that's not the case.

I don't know if someone's been in and edited it already, but the book you linked to appears to be a paperback with that ISBN.

Thanks for checking.

Had to add it without an ISBN. Goodreads says that ISBN is in use already even though when I search for it nothing comes up. So not sure what's going on there.

Thanks, Ellie

I found the ASIN number for the kindle edition (B0BJSGV831) but it appears to be the same number that the ebook edition has. Is this expected? Also, no ISBN for this.
Given this information, are you able to create a Kindle edition for this book? And if not, are you able to at least add the cover image to the ebook edition (same as the English hardcover)?
Thanks!
(and I'll make a separate post for the other one after I research it).

This is the second book I mentioned above. This time I read the Kindle edition, and it does still exist, it's just that the cover image is now missing. Can you please add it? Here are the details:
Vagina Obscura: An Anatomical Voyage (Kindle in English)
ASIN number: B098TYRZTL
Cover image: same as English hardcover edition.
Thanks so much :)

Thank you Ellie! They are both already showing on my end. SO appreciate :)

This is the same cover as the version of the book I read

but I can't find a large print version listed
( ISBN 10 is 1568953739, 437 pages )
(Edit: it doesn't list ISBN 13 , published 1996)
Link to amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Behind-Scene...
(Amazon has it listed as £85 , should I tell the library how much it's worth?😳)
Thanks

That ISBN is already being used for Behind the Scenes at the Museum which does state it's a large print edition on the librarian edit page, it's just not showing on the book details page. I uploaded a better quality cover image for it.

Done, although it's not showing up on the book page yet...

My bad, I thought I'd commented that I'd done it!

Misbegotten on the Goodreads page?
The book that's referred to on this page is the 2013 paperback edition, published by Orion. The page lists the book as being called Misbegotten and says it was originally published as The Misbegotten .
However, I am reading that edition and it definitely has 'The' in the title, as shown in the accompanying cover illustration.
Thanks.

The Amazon import has assigned that ASIN to the wrong edition and only Goodreads can correct it, but I've created a Kindle edition without the ASIN for now. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

- which lists her only works as the new book and a book by Susanna Clarke.
There is also this author page, which seems to be closer to correct -

I've changed the editions that were V.E. to Victoria, so they should eventually link to the same page as her other books... Until more get imported as V.E. I wish Goodreads had a better way of identifying authors.

Thanks Ellie!

Can these two records be combined?

You can see from the cover of Rocky Mountain Heat that it states (in tiny italicized print at the bottom): Previously published as All of Me
If you open the records of each book the descriptions are identical.
My local library's record shows under More Details,
General Note - "Originally published as All of Me by Forever in April 2009"

- which lists her only works as the new book and a b..."
But they shouldn't be the same page - The author uses one name for her YA books and one for her adult fiction. Goodreads keeps separate pages for authors when they write under more than one name.

It links to Victoria E. Schwab which has all her V.E. books and her middle grade as Victoria. It's her Goodreads author profile so I'm not going to mess with it.

Can these two records be combined?

Done.
