KatForsyth | 2 comments Hi everyone!

So this is a weirdly specific request. I just finished reading "Love and Other Disasters" by Anita Kelly, and I realised this is the first book I've ever read with a non-binary/genderqueer character using they/them pronouns, that is told in the 3rd person and not 1st person. So I'm looking for more!

The reason I'm specifically looking for 3rd person POV is because I want to see ALL the Theys and Thems every time the character is mentioned. When a book is written in first person, it's mostly "I did this, I said this", and you only see the they/them pronouns when other characters talk about them. Because I didn't grow up with they/them pronouns in books (or life), my brain still gets surprised to see "they" referring to a single person, and I want to get more used to it. Even by the end of "Love and Other Disasters" I could feel my brain getting accustomed to it. It was a good feeling!

I like contemporary YA, or cute adult romance. I don't like fantasy or supernatural romance. Hoping someone can help me with some recommendations!
