What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this book within the last decade. Details I am sure of:

- the only scene I remember is where the heroine is found by the hero and his friends/team mid sexual assualt. She was lying in the snow with her pants down and a guy assualting her. (It was a father son duo that had it out for her). When the hero and his team got the guy off her, they discover that shes bleeding out from a deep wound on her neck.

Things i am not 100% sure about:

- the hero and heroine may have had a falling out when she was attacked.

- this book might be a part of a series
