Sleep deprivation and doorways to alternate realities make this disorienting horror story truly disturbing. Reminiscent of Jacob's Ladder in that you can't be sure what is real, or if you can trust the protagonist. There are a bit of Final Destination vibes in that even though Tananarive Due tips you off to the ultimate fate of our protagonist the thrill of the ride isn't dampened, but without the exploitative shock value kills.

For horror fans looking for a head-spinning, nightmare-fueled mystery (sorta) that questions reality as we know it.

Cora (corareading) | 1921 comments I have this on my TBR. I read the first in her Immortal series, My Soul to Keep, earlier this year and really liked her take on vampire-ish creatures. I look forward to reading more by her.

Meli (melihooker) | 4165 comments I have The Good House on my tbr and I think I picked up My Soul to Keep this year. I didn't realize it was vampires which makes me very happy!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
Assuming that is the one I picked up...

The immortals are not exactly vampires, but they live forever and use blood to create more of themselves so there is some overlap.
