Linda Eighmy | 8 comments Jasmine, are you able to send the book as a word document? I'd hate to use up your stock. I am also looking for reviews with my book, "Mary Elisabeth Quigley is Listening to the Sunrise" It is a book for middle grade children about a spunky blind girl. If we could trade word documents that would be easy. I'll look at your book on line. Thanks, Linda Eighmy

biba (books_with_biba) Hi Linda -
Amazon suspends/bans accounts of authors that swap reviews. I wouldn't recommend doing this at all, but if you decide to do so, don't talk about it here :)
The TOS states, “Family members or close friends of the person, group, or company selling on Amazon may not write Customer Reviews for those particular items.”
Sure, you guys may not be close friends, but say you're in the position that you got a positive review from the other author, but you really dislike the other person's book (not talking about Jasmine specifically, just in general). You're probably going to be that much nicer. Basically, don't do review swaps so you don't end up writing a biased review.

I'd recommend you get a reviewer to review your book for you. While you might be thinking "Well, yeah, but the reviewer will have talked to me too.", but reviewers generally aim to give honest reviews, whether or not it'll make the author happy.

If you'd like to learn more, this is where I got the info: https://www.selfpublishingreview.com/...

Yasmine - Thanks for the tip. I thought new authors could review one another's books, but I'll check out your suggestion and go that route. LindaE
