Eni | 169 comments Is Artificial Condition (The Murderbot Diaries, #2) by Martha Wells brown enough?

message 502: by Eni (new)

Eni | 169 comments .... Jenny I found one of those books that you like to read. I'm not feeling Hell Bent so I was looking at another snake book and found Snake Keeper: Alien First Contact Romance. Do you think it could fit? :P

Yes that is brown.

Chances are one of the animals eats snakes or something, so we could probably find a place for it.

Whether I "like" those books is up for debate. I do enjoy giggling at them.

I blame Sónia. "Go tell Jenny you found one of those books she likes". I did as I was told, cause I'm a very good girl 🤭

Snowtulip | 834 comments Wow, we are really filling up on those animals. I probably have a few more in me...my issue is creativity! Will see what I find...

Post your book(s) here, and the team can maybe help with finding a spot!

message 510: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 317 comments I am going to move Fairy Tale to "A book featuring a tyrant" (read by me) on the mini and read Normal People for the "Two-word title" prompt.

I think I might be able to fit one more book in after that... hopefully :)

message 511: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Lauri, your book is on the board.

message 512: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Snowtulip,
Pearl Sky has a dragon on the cover, so use it for leafy sea dragon (z).

Not sure about the other one. Maybe something in the story will spark a connection?

message 516: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments It is almost the end of Uno. We have claimed all of the main cards, and Part 1 of the mini!!!!
Remaining are just a few spots in Part 2-

Blue-Footed Booby (1)
Echnida (1)
Ground Pangolin (1)
Honduran White Bat (1)
Laughing Kookaburra (1)
Leafy Seadragon (1)
Platypus (1)
Tasmanian devil (1)
Venezuelan Poodle Moth (1)

When you all get a moment, can you check that the books you have claimed will be done by the end of the month, and see if anything you are reading will work for the remaining mini tasks.

There are only 9 unclaimed spots, and I think we can do it.
Well done team!

message 517: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 935 comments I will definitely finish all my books by deadline. Hmm.... maybe I should quit my job and become a professional reader? I wonder if it pays very well?

message 518: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments I'm participating in a Read-a-thon on Sat so I can cover several books then. I normally read 7-12 depending on the length. I'll plan on doing as many of the Part2 ones as possible.

Anything I have claimed and not updated will be done!

message 519: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments I am listening to A Tale of Two Cities. Can you think of how that could fit anywhere? Grey cover, so not much help there.

message 520: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Something may come to me though!

message 521: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 834 comments How did I not see the dragon on the cover!

I’ll do that for leafy sea dragon, can’t add to spreadsheet until tomorrow though.

message 522: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments I was playing with the spreadsheet, so I just added it for you.

message 524: by Teddie (last edited Apr 27, 2023 06:38AM) (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1012 comments Sorry for being out for a few days. I've updated my reading and added one for the Honduran Bat mini. I'll get my last book currently on the tracking sheet done, and am looking for a few short audiobooks for other mini tasks. I'm trying to get a baby blanket knitted for a shower on Sunday so lots of time to listen... lol.

message 525: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1012 comments Added book for Echidna task.

message 526: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Not sure that a baby blanket will keep the rain showers off of your head, but you do you. teehee.

What color are you knitting? I need to get back to knitting. I have several unfinished sweaters that are in a closet just waiting for me to get to. It is a bit hard to get excited about a new sweater when the weather is about to hit 100 degrees in Phoenix. Yuck.

message 527: by Teddie (last edited Apr 27, 2023 07:55AM) (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1012 comments The blanket is an easygoing zig zag pattern and I'm using some solid colors and a self-striping yarn too - just wanted it to be happy and soft:

I need to finish the purple and cream on the left side. I got back into knitting a couple years ago and trying to learn something new technique-wise with every project. It is also turning out to be a great practice for my wabi sabi 2023 ;)

I think I have as much fun planning projects and the yarns to use as I do knitting them - good thing too or my yarn purchasing would be out of control. Ravelry.com is a rabbithole for me - love finding patterns that appeal and then seeing all the projects others make for it.

message 528: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments That is so pretty!
I like learning new techniques as well. So far I seem to fall down the hardest when trying multi-colored Fairview stitches. Or whatever it is called. It has been a while.

message 529: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments Very pretty, Teddie!!

message 530: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1012 comments Thanks! I'm in the cream section now - fingers crossed! I've got to get it done tomorrow as it will need at least a day to block and dry. I haven't done any fair isle colorwork yet - its on my list though! My next hill to climb is brioche.

message 531: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Ah Fair Isle. I knew I got the name wrong. I do not know what Brioche knitting is. Off to look it up...

Oh, and all of the mini tasks are claimed!!!!!

If anyone feels strongly about having a book on the mini sheet that they are reading, take one of mine. I do not mind.

I just have to say, bloody well done team!!!!!!

message 535: by Eni (new)

Eni | 169 comments Just to check in. I'll finish both my books in time. I'm glad we are all full on mini because my weekend is going to be really busy and I wouldn't be able to fit a third book in.

Great job everyone! :O
