Jenny | 2346 comments I just hit up the GR complaints/ comment page again with the book page glitches. I wasn't very polite about it. I wonder what the response will be.

message 202: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments Do you get responses?? I haven't ever gotten one!

message 203: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments I have. If I get one this time I will share it with you.

Angie ☯ | 990 comments Cool!!

Can we play hooky from work tomorrow?? The whole team - we'll have a party!!

message 205: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Yes. I have declared tomorrow to be pets and books and bourbon appreciation day, and no one can do that from the office.

Clearly I have the power to make such holidays.

Angie ☯ | 990 comments You are a goddess!!

Angie ☯ | 990 comments My niece brought me a pound of coffee that a local coffee cafe makes themselves. It's bourbon infused....SO good!

message 208: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Damn. That sounds so good. My sister makes a coffee and chocolate liqueur that I add to my coffee on the weekends. I would do it in a weekday, but I have to use the big saw and other power tools at work, and being a bit tipsy isn't a great idea. teehee

Wow, Jenny! What exactly is it you do? If I drank at work, probably nobody would even notice! The worst that could happen would be misspelled words! Or maybe I’d laugh/cry simultaneously or just crawl under my desk for a nap. Hmm… no that’s called Wednesday. Wait…

Lauri (otwlauri) | 935 comments I’ve got a bunch of books almost finished! I was trying not to be greedy, too! I’ll see where they can fit for the mini. I am really enjoying One Last Stop & Welcome to the School by the Sea!

Teddie (teddieg) | 1012 comments I'm home today, still on the coffee part of my day, but nearing guiness & pizza hour. I found a D4 yellow 3 that will also work for the dragon task in the mini. That will be it for me for the month - but I'm enjoying the mix of audio and text reads again :)
edit: scratch that - Tineye is saying brown where I see yellow - erg: The Waking Fire (The Draconis Memoria, #1) by Anthony Ryan

My long-standing gripe with GR (which they have heard about a few times) is how there is no way to avoid adding duplicates to your shelves when entering a giveaway that is offering a different format. Honestly, how hard is it to add a "enter and switch to this edition" button to the giveaway? Can also have an "enter and add this edition" button which would do what it currently does. The best option would be to have a book entity page that allows a user to tag for multiple formats with the same title (entity) but that would mean a major db overhaul, so I get why they aren't doing that.

message 212: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Damn. I see yellow too. Let me get the other caps to weigh in on it.

My day didn't worked out like I planned to, so I didn't finish the book. I'm missing about 100pages or so, so I'll go cuddle up in bed with it until I end it.

I was looking for something else to read this afternoon and nothing came up. So any suggestions would be appreciated Jenny. Just bear in mind I don't read ermhmm.. such colorful books as Sónia :p

message 214: by Jenny (new)

message 230: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Done.

Can someone turn the clock back so tomorrow is not Monday please?

message 231: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 990 comments I second Jenny's "not Monday" request!! :-P

message 232: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 321 comments Sadly, the not monday request was a bust. And my daily meeting happened anyway... but, since most people is off today, it was lead by the business unit boss.

The only thing I thought was "good thing I'm not in my pajamas"

LOL

Anyway, tomorrow is mardi grass, aka Carnaval if you're not in New Orleans, so no working for me, YES!!!!

Sonia (darktalynn) | 321 comments Btw, did you know today is international Cat day? (In Europe, that is. Apparently cats are so awesome, they have several Cat Days around the globe)

One of my pet sites had this image and I had to share it!

I'm off to give my kitties some love.

message 234: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Aech, who is sitting on my lap, and Kayso, who is having his breakfast totally approve of cat day!!!!

I love the little Oscar statuettes.

message 235: by Eni (last edited Feb 20, 2023 10:42AM) (new)

Eni | 169 comments i switched the ninth house book to fit the mini task - snake on the cover. I figured it was easier to find a black cover than a book with a snake.

And i started Alibis in Alpha Sector. It looks like fun, so ty Jenny!
The kindle edition has no listed pages on GR. It's telling me 212 on kindle. Let me know if you want me to switch to the paperback version or if someone can edit the pages.

Stooopid GR and changing the stooopid book page thingy! Couldn't find the shelves so i went for The Forging of Dawn instead >_<

message 238: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 935 comments In the US it’s President’s Day & a Federal holiday! So I am still in my pajamas & plan to stay in them all day & evening! Yaaayyy! Also ugly & rainy all day & nice & cool. Great day for reading in bed!

I get my cat fix only at work. One big male tiger we call Bubba is my special friend. We also have several therapy dogs (all either Labs or Retrievers,) a bunny & a Guinea pig for the patients. On Valentine’s Day the techs brought a dog & the Guinea pig to our office for some love! They thought we needed some therapy! Isn’t that sweet?

message 239: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Aww. I would love to have a work kitty, but pet hair and framing don't go well together, alas.

I love staying in bed with a book and the rain.

Aech, like Ready Player One?!? And Kayso like queso?!?! If not... I still LOVE the names!

message 241: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2346 comments Yes on Ready Player One, and not on the cheese dip. I named him after what Abby Von Normal said often in Bite Me: A Love Story.

Read with a Valley-Girl accent...

Part of chapter one of Bite Me
(view spoiler)

message 242: by Jenny (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1012 comments My giveaway book for A Sinister Revenge just came in the mail, so I'll have to add that to March :D

?
