I was in there once for awhile and completely forgot I was in the mod account and was confused as to why all these books I'd read were no longer appearing as read.

I was annoyed for like 15 minutes until I realized I wasn't in my own account. *face palm*

Well. . . sure, that sounds like a really easy task for people. LOL

Lexi | 4254 comments Probably my fault on the typo, but that brings up an idea I had. Can I make of overly specific wheel of literary monsters? No page count will be over 450 for people who like shorter books, but it is a risk for the overly specific tasks.

Jenny | 8052 comments If there isn't such a book, there bloody well should be.

Sure, I can put a warning in the post for the wheel. People aren't required to spin it so if they don't like the specific tasks, there are at least 4 others they have to chose from.

message 306: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8052 comments We killed off the Chimera, but now we are being looked at very funny by Hannibal Lector!

I added numbers to the monsters because I was curious how many we were up too. Hopefully I didn't skip a number. We are fairly close to 80!

A Prayer for the Crown-Shy (Monk & Robot, #2) by Becky Chambers

Would you all consider these mountains? or just hills?

message 317: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8052 comments I would call them hills.
Love that book.

message 318: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7435 comments Mod
Yeah, I was leaning more towards hills but figured one of you might talk me into them being mountains.

they don't happen to solve a riddle, do they?

It's such a lovely little series

Jenny wrote: "What do you mean solve a riddle? Which riddle?"

Oh, sorry. I put the book down for the journey task for Sphinx. and was sort asking a hopeful question about if they solve a riddle, since that's the hardest task from that particular set.

The stylized coloration of the bird on the cover doesn't look black on my screen.

message 332: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments I sadly agree. The species is a black vulture so I was hopeful.

message 333: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Actually I’m wrong. It is a Turkey vulture so there you go.

I’m on the way to send the day with my in-laws so no spreadsheet access.

But I finished Boldly Go which should finish off a monster and I’ve started Quicksilver which has a raven on the cover for the black bird task.

Lexi's particular monsters or Dr. Who???? Or is it a surprise?

Lexi's. She made a special request it go out in time for us to use it some before the next big team challenge starts in NBRC.

And that's good to know about Dr. Who, I'll keep that in mind ;)

message 347: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8052 comments Perfect!
That leaves time for anyone to add to the list. Who has a lot of silly monsters...

message 348: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Thank you, Judith. I am very excited. This is my favorite of the wheels so far. Also, some of the tasks are truly obnoxious.

I should finish my brown cover book today and hopefully my sloth one in the next few days. I have been in kind of a reading funk this month.

message 349: by Lexi (new)

message 350: by Lexi (last edited Aug 26, 2023 08:39PM) (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments For fun I made a list of the total of each monster, due to being the smallest wheel, we have done all of the Asian monsters and impressively have 3 or more each of 5 monsters. No sneks, despite Judith and I getting more than 10 when we spun for the original wheel. We might want to stick to Urban and Human for a bit to get new monsters as we have probably had most of the Greek ones in the original round.
