Carol (cquan01) | 589 comments I read This Is Big:How Weight Watchers Changed The World ( And Me), which satisfied Prompt 1-Has Subtitles. This book has been on my shelf, staring at me since 2020. Chapters alternate between a history of Weight Watchers starting with Jean Nidetch and the author/journalist’s story of her personal struggles. I really enjoyed the chapters centering around Weight Watcher’s history, but the author’s negativity made her chapters less enjoyable. Yes, you can lose weight and maintain it!

Beth | 211 comments Happy New Year!
My first reads this year were The Tombs and A Dark and Stormy Tea.

message 4: by Karen O (new)

Karen O | 35 comments First book of the year: Friends in High Places by Donna Leon. Listened on audio. Detective story set in Venice. Next was Red Winter by Marc Cameron (a T Clancy story). It was ok. Then Sad Cypress by Agatha Christie. Enjoyed but found it to be similar to a couple of her other books. (For the A Christie bookclub) Then another audio: Acqua Alta by Donna Leon. Really enjoyed, again set in Venice, detective story.

Angela (bookangel2) | 15 comments I finished The Evening and the Morning by Ken Follett yesterday. It was a mammoth read, but I enjoyed it - Ken Follett is a good storyteller!

message 6: by Michaela (new)

Michaela Morales | 6 comments My first book was It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover. Super quick read and i felt like I had to finish it in order to see how Lily and Atlas end up. In my honestly opinion, the book was not necessary and I feel like It ends with us ended at a good stopping point, but it was nice to finally read how the story ends and what happened to the characters.

message 17: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Able (lisaleanne94) I read Truth by Megan Linski, which I'm choosing prompt #39 final book in a series for even though it satisfies a few prompts. Loved how action packed it was, slow burn romance, in fact close to none , but overall I really enjoyed it.

message 18: by Char (last edited Jan 14, 2023 04:19PM) (new)

Char (charmmicek) | 4 comments I read The Last Party by Clare Mackintosh because it was a prize I won for the day 9 giveaway in November and it took place on New Years Day. It was fun and a good premise with a few twists. I used it for Prompt # 16 Featuring one of the “seven deadly sins.”

message 21: by Chelsey (new)

Chelsey Liane | 1 comments My first read this year was It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. I enjoyed it, even if the names were silly.

message 22: by Peggy (new)

Peggy Perna (findingthebookshelf) | 6 comments Prompt 2- featuring an inheritance
Started and completed Sense and Sensibility

Prompt 8- Dystopian fiction
Started Handmaid’s Tale

message 23: by Christina (new)

Christina | 1 comments For Week 1, I read American Predator by Maureen Callahan. It honestly put me into a reading slump because I didn't really enjoy the storytelling of the first part of the book but after picking it back up today I can say I'm glad I stuck with it and finished it because it was a really really good case. I would recommend this to anyone who likes true crime, or at least google the case and read over it because it's not commonly covered online and it's insane. Glad to have this challenge to push me to keep reading.

And, this book is full of secrets!! Highly recommend!!

Happy Reading!!

I really did... There were some parts that were tedious, but the ending was so good imo.
