Aleksey (rlabs) | 30 comments Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie Librarian and not sure I'm doing the things correctly.

When working with the readers requests and adding new books from my own collection, I often found that the book with the same ISBN is already added by someone named " amazon_com".

The problem is that these books are added with transliterated titles. It's really nearly impossible to find a Russian language book listed in transliterated form using the Goodreads Search.

So, I'm not sure what shoud I do in this case. I'd like to add the original publication of the book with the correct title, so it can be searched for. Should it be a New Edition or Alternate Cover Edition?

Thanks.

Examples of books I've added:

You shouldn't add a new edition, but these editions should be edited to follow the policies for titles: https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/... where the use of transliterations is also explained.

So, what should I do now with the editions I've already added?

You added those with ISBNs. As long as the author doesn't have an English-language profile, you did it correctly.
