For me, the story was humorous, despite the negative aspects. I think that, again, goes back to Yabouza. The judge was speaking, she say, in a neutral tone as if he was choosing between a papaya or mango. Then, the judgment— “but the court bla bla bal… dismisses it on its substance bla bla blaaah…” This was a serious matter, but the narrative is snarky. I really liked that!
